The whole 3-star thing got me thinking: Lots of articles and comments on Dawgnation and other places lamenting the lack of 4 & 5 star recruits committed to UGA. (@NorthHallDawg - Don't think that your comment was lamenting, but it got me thinking). I believe that Indiana's national championship team had zero kids who were 5-stars coming out of high school and not many who were 4-stars. A lot was made of the fact that Indiana had older kids with lots of playing experience. In my view, Kirby is essentially building the same thing, but ensuring that the UGA staff is the one developing these kids, not others/the transfer portal. Just curious as to why more positive things are being said about that if, in fact, Cignetti seemed to get kudos for winning a national championship with a roster of mature, developed kids. Maybe I'm missing something?
