"But Bulldogs fans know the names that lined up ahead of Williams, with three of those players now in the NFL (Smael Mondon, Jalon Walker and CJ Allen) along with current Georgia teammates Raylen Wilson and Chris Cole, a half-step ahead by position."
I have a feeling everyone will know his name and hear it a lot this season. He is poised to continue the tradition of great linebackers at UGA, and be a major contributor to what will probably be the best defensive unit in the country!
GO DAWGS!
I like Williams mental, and physical approach to the game. And would have no doubts he could be that "green dot" guy on Defense. Usually a LB is the QB of a defense for a reason. Just like the QB has to recognize zone, man to man, blitz, etc, with the coaches in his ear also. The LB is usually the one breaking down the offensive sets, and communicating it to the Defense, again, with the coaches helping via the "green dot". But, if I'm not mistaken, they cut off communications with the helmet with 15 seconds on the play clock?
It is going to be a fun ride to see him take it to the next level. When we hit the SEC grind, he could be the play-maker we so need. GATA!!
This defense will play back up to the standard. I have heard many national media types proclaim that UGA has the best linebacking corps. I think the back end will be really good, and the DL will create more pressure from the inside freeing up those linebackers. It's going to be fun to watch again.
