I’d love to see Wade join UGA simply because he would be exciting to watch. But Georgia can clearly win with good 4 stars (or Stetson) who put in the work, manage the game and avoid turnovers. There’s only so much money to go around. The biggest offseason question for Kirby is whether he likes the QB room or feels like we need a transfer. Given the cost of a guaranteed hit at that position in the portal, I’d roll with the Ryans.
Seems to me these 5 star QB's think they are the finished product right out of high school. That is never the case. CKS's process of developing players is not flawed. So let the 5 stars do whatever they want. I'll take a 2, 3 or 4 star that will commit to development any day of the week. Hey coach, go find a couple more Stetson Bennet's and Ladd McConkey's.

Time proved JT Daniel wasn't a 5 star, nor was Brock V or Eason. Just because someone gives you a ranking, doesn't mean you really deserve it. Brock played for a tiny Christian school. We aren't by ourselves, as you can see from the Ryola situation or Bear Alexander. These kids take the next shining deal they see. Curtis is Ryola all over again. More than likely he'll get hurt, he'll transfer. I wouldn't rate any QB as a 5 star. You can call them 4+, but not five. You never know until they get on the field. Brock Purdy had amazing stats and was drafted last. He's #1 in the NFL right now. Stetson wasn't ranked but won two Championships. Rankings don't mean squat.

Imo…Some of these kids have been convinced by the adults around them (Agents & Lawyers...or vultures)....constantly in their ear, whispering sweet nothin's...to the tune of...."You are the second coming of Tom Brady, and are Entitled to be Starter, wherever you go."....Lol. And, young'uns are fools…until they learn.
So....the 5-Star kids believe "that" malarkey and take that attitude into their recruiting process.....while they're "negotiating" with Kirby...Lol. Problem is...Kirby knows better. He can convince a few, but, not all....that UGA is the ultimate destination...IF...you want to be the best you Can be and go to the league.". You won't take the field behind Center, before you are ready....barring injury damage control.
a lot of 5-Star Athletes aren't that patient. I don't blame the Player...or, the Coach. I blame The Game. It is what it is. I like what Kirby puts on the field. But...that's just me.
we won 2 nattys with a scout team walk on. Look at Ole Miss, Trinidad was playing D2 before he transferred and the dude is a beast or was last year.

Personally, don’t think Kirby could care less about a prima-donna QB, as long as the 5* defensive recruiting trend turns back up.
I still remember watching from the end zone bleachers in Columbia a pissed-off Kirby Smart "vocally educating" 5* QB Quincy Carter on how to read a zone blitz!
Excellent comments Montana !! Even the so called 5stars have to be surrounded by very good to great players on Both sides of the ball. Especially in these new playoff times. In particular Must have a great O Line, Must have guys that can get separation, run smooth routes, and Catch the ball even the contested ones from time to time. I’m speaking in terms of making it to and Winning the Ntl. Title. Allot of very good to great things must happen for a team !! Hoping that’s our Dawgs This year !!

I agree with all of what you said (and have said most of it myself at times) except on JT. I think he had a high QB IQ and a good arm but was, unfortunately, too injury prone. I dont think he ever really came back from it. @BigDawg61

JT Daniels was injury plaqued but if there was ever a kid out of HS who deserved a 5star rating it was him. Simply phenominal!

Personally....I believe in this new CFB....We should go back to the old way, of treating Freshmen as Journeymen. Intelligible to play in their Freshman year. That would take the pressure of the young'uns allow them to grow.
Imo....it's almost cruel to place that much expectation on a 17 or 18 yr old. The entire fan base counting on a 17 yr old kid to take em to the Promised Land...is unrealistic and delusional. Which a lot of Americans have become.
