So many mistakes, it was a painful watch. But, we can clean up unforced errors and work on being more disciplined. Auburn had a good game plan - hats off to them. But they needed us to self destruct to have any chance to win and they were gifted a season's worth of bad plays, all in one game. Still have our most important goals in front of us.
You're #1 and trying to win a National Championship. You can't outclass a 3-2 Auburn team missing their best player? UGA cruised to 14-0 lead and then mailed it in. Kirby, Bobo, Gunner and the entire putrid mess literally gave Auburn the game. On a silver platter. Gunner's last fumble wasn't caused by Auburn, he ran into Bobo's back. UGA beat themselves. The secondary, supposed to be a strength, is awful. Tackling was awful. O line blocking was awful. Earnest Green looked slow and out of shape on the edge. He was abused. The D was gassed because the O couldn't sustain a drive. Worst loss since overtime to SC back early in Kirby's tenure. If you need a wake up call to play in the SEC, you have no business playing there. Go to the Sunbelt. Leave it to Georgia to squander a great Bama win.
We just witnessed the football version of the Dodgers and the Brewers . Money can’t buy class and heart .
ALL True Dawgs are hurting over this loss and sick to their stomachs. But like your last comment is SO True. You said: Out most important goals are still in front of us. Yes and spot on. As terrible and humiliating as this loss was it’s One game.
Now if the players will USE that humiliation and sorrow as fuel they Might win out the rest of the way. I forget the year as I’m Old but ironically Auburn beat the snot out of us during the regular season but Dawgs came back in the SECCG and beat the snot out of them !!
Maybe I say Maybe this got the bad out of the way and the Dawgs can Use it as motivation and frankly bitterness to crush their future opponents. I’m Not gonna give up on them for losing even though it was a terrible loss. Thanks for your right and positive insight !
I agree with Jim Wallace with said Kirby’s energy seemed off today. Spent much of the day just standing there with his arms across his chest. I almost bieve all his talk about humility being a week away resonated with his team in a negative way. Saying it certainly didn’t prevent it. Gunner wasn’t the same after the hit on him and Puglisi gave them a spark. Why not give him a series or two and allow Gunner to catch his breath Auburn really just had one play we couldn’t stop well enough the QB run. Not like we didn’t know it was coming. Just when I was starting to believe we had some bad ass dudes on the oline they get dominated.
Sorry guys….Georgia was exposed and badly. I hold little hope for the playoffs now. You cannot play sandlot football against Florida, Ole Miss and Missouri. I am sick at heart over this poorly played game. Gunner Stockton is far from elite. Look at those egregious throws he missed. Not close. He is far from consistent. He ran into his own center,fumbled and Auburn took the game. Won't mention the novices in the defensive backfield….terrible. I learned a lot from this one. Georgia had no business being #1…well, they will be fortunate to make the top 10 now. Yes, Kirby you made sure humility was a week away! Enough rant!
So Georgia goes into the bye week beaten up (physically and mentally). As Kirby said, a lot of questions being asked around the locker room. You don't lose to a unranked rival at home the way the dawgs lost today and not ask "why?". Florida is going into the bye with some momentum from their win today and feeling good about themselves. Who will emerge when they meet in 2 weeks in Atlanta? It will be interesting to see…
