Loser: Gabe Harris

I would've preferred to see a more specific list of Winners and Losers because there were a lot of losers. You can see in that INT how it really was a bad decision overall. He makes the pass best case it goes to the line of scrimmage? Maybe 1-2 yards. A number of rare bad decisions and almost-interceptions for Stockton. He threw it at his own teammates helmet, his fumble happened because he bumped against one of his teammates, etc.
But really, that's not the biggest concern. Our defense was dreadful. How many times did the QB get 7+ yards running? How many missed tackles? Sloppy penalties?
Let's draw a line under Saturday's debacle and move on.
nah, a historically bad performance has to be scrutinized from every angle. Otherwise UGA isn’t making the playoffs this year. They didn’t earn their paychecks. Kirby should donate his to the local YMCA.
How about the coaching staff. You give the ball to Frazier up the middle twice the throw a swing pass to him out of the backfield?? Why was Gunner even carrying the ball on the fumble. Short pass to TE or give it to Phillips or Walker. The defense was a total collapse also.
there was talk of giving him a raise. I guess it’s hard to live off $13 million plus bonuses and incentives
This team is looking at least 2or possibly 3 more losses this year
One more thing, an Ohio State buddy of mine commented when we are losing, "They are not playing well, but knowing Georgia, they will find a way to win it." Great to have that reputation, that was not so before Kirby…
What an excellent post and a very cool statement by your buddy!
Made my day to hear what people outside of our program think (rather than something coming from the talking heads in the media)!!!
Go Dawgs! Hate on floriduh!
Don't disagree that this was a bad loss…..but worst in his career!?
That would have to be the Vandy loss in 2016 IMO….or the floriduh loss two weeks later!
According to the TV announcers, UGA did not practice in pads all week for the very reason you stated. But in hindsight, maybe they should have because they couldn't tackle worth #@&*!
@kirkhilles you are spot on. All three of Gunner's turnovers were the end result of a bad decision. Some have said his first INT was the result of a great play by the Auburn safety. Not so. Gunner stared down the receiver, which allowed the safety to get over there. Bad decision. As you noted, on the second INT, even if completed, we would have gained, at most, 2 yards as the Auburn defender was closing in. Stockton should have just thrown the ball away. Again, bad decision. And finally, on his fumble, it probably looked to most like a designed QB draw. It was not. It was a called pass play and the other 10 offensive players executed it as such. But for whatever reason Stockton, apparently on his own, decides (very quickly after the snap) that he's going to run the ball. If he waits a tenth of a second, he would have had his choice of four open receivers, including Craig Dandridge who was open up the sideline for a first down inside FG range. We'll probably never know what made Stockton decide to run the ball but again, it was a bad decision. And because making multiple bad decisions like that, plus his overall inaccuracy are so uncharacteristic, one can't help but think he was affected in some way by that hit at the beginning of the game. Maybe he was able to clear concussion protocol, but I still don't think his brain was "all there" throughout the game.
