Re: Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett arrested early Sunday morning
Not only does this not reflect well on SBIV but it does not reflect well on the UGA program. The RaRa situation. Add these to the tragic death of 2 young people. After the very high of go for 2n'22 it seems all the positive 'vibes' have been **** out of the off season. CKS has been proud of creating a "player lead"… -
Re: Georgia’s QB situation remains a hot topic
@UGA66, Do you really think Bama has Stetson’s number? Stetson put up 24 points in the first half in Tuscaloosa against arguably the best Bama team in history. We were the only team to lead Bama at halftime thanks in a huge part to Bennett. I think it’s a stretch to blame Stetson for the almost 500 yards of passing offense… -
Re: Nakobe Dean explains what the Georgia defense must do better going forward
It's a high percentage play.. 5 yard passes, and you get first downs, control the ball and the clock. THAT was their scheme, Cine said we wanted to keep them in front of us...that was their scheme also. On defense the wide outs need to be played man to man, 3-4 man rush w/zone coverage at a "linebacker" distance. This type… -
Re: Quarterback of highest-scoring offense in Georgia history reflects on Mike Bobo’s 2014 season
Thanks MG for an insightful article on Bobo. I’m fascinated with the fans who ruminate over a few bad offensive calls he made a decade ago. I remember some of those too, but they weren’t necessarily the wrong calls at that time….just poorly executed. If you are going to blast Bobo for not scoring in key games inside the 5… -
Re: Kirby Smart notes what he learned about 2019 LSU and what it means for 2022 Tennessee game
Just for chuckles I watched the highlights of last year's UGA win over TN...41 to 17. UGA defense won the day. Also, Bennett ran the ball to score. Bennett needs to run more. The UGA run game was prolific. Passing game was so -so....dropped passes and Bennett just missing. In the late 3rd and 4th quarters...UGA took it to… -
Re: Former head coach and QB guru Dan Mullen shares his take on Stetson Bennett
Bennett was effective throwing downfield when needed That actually ... never happened. The longest pass plays were 38 (McIntosh), 29 (Bowers), 27 (Mitchell) and 25 (Washington) yards, all of which were short or intermediate passes where the pass catchers got half or more of the yards after the catch. Please don't try to… -
Re: NCAA implements transfer windows, college football playoffs likely on verge of expanding
Huh? NIL was was forced on everyone because players sued the NCAA for the right to and won at the Supreme Court. After the players won at the Supreme Court NIL became legal immediately. Because the players won this right at the Supreme Court it is unwise to try to limit or regulate it. The players will respond with another… -
Re: Kirby Smart evasive on quarterback questions, updates Georgia injury status ahead of Michigan game
My theory is that Smart sees the QB position as simply a "leadership position" and as long as that person has a skill of "good" or better, wants that person to be the one consistent offensive manager. He has played Bennett 60 mins during blowouts to give 2nd and 3rd string players time to play WITH BENNETT. He sees the QB… -
Re: ESPN: Can anyone beat Georgia? Key numbers from Ohio State, Tennessee matchups
Kirby just toyed with Kent St., Mizzou, Kentucky and LSU, in a few quarters, last year, to give his boys a little challenge. A little manufactured adversity. To see if they were ready to fight for it. I know, a lot of people will find that, "hard to believe". But, IMO, it's the only explanation, that has some logic to it,… -
Re: Jamie Newman official statement and only (introductory) interview as Georgia Bulldog
One more thing and then I'm done on the topic. First off, we have every reason to be mad because we aren't being told the whole truth. But, I do indeed trust Smart and he's had no troubles getting whatever QBs he's wanted to. I've certainly been impressed with Newman (although G Game would've shown a whole lot more)…
