Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
California just announced that they are going to a 4 tier priority on testing. From (poor) memory Hospitalized With symptoms Essential workers All others. Those in tier 4 will not get results until turnaround time for 1-3 is less than 48 hours (so may get the test but not likely to get results anytime soon) This will cause… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
My wife has 2 high school friends (both mid 40's) message her the last 3 days. Her parents-in-law have it. The wife is at home and seemingly doing okay but the husband is in ICU and not responding well to oxygen, anti-virals and plazma and may have to go onto a ventilator soon if not improved. Not a good situation. Her… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
Those are great questions, but they will take a lot of time to answer if they are ever answered. Anecdotally, my wife knows one of the passengers who tested positive on that early cruise ship off of Japan. She was in her 70's and completely asymptomatic, as in she would never have suspected illness if they hadn't tested… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
Well, you know what they say about statistics. FL and NY have roughly the same cases. Tests per MM are almost 2X in favor of NY. Deaths per MM are 1682 for NY and 268 for FL. FL has over a million more seniors and half of NY's seniors come to FL in winter. NY has over 6X the death rate for deaths per MM! Europe's big five… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
Speaking of Sweden, I had a client yesterday tell me her MIL had recently died over there. She had cancer, and started suffering from dementia. She’s in her 80’s. All of the kids are spread out and nobody had power of attorney. So they bring the ole girl in for treatment and tell her they need to run a few tests. She asks,… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
Small crowd in church today. 100 people in a sanctuary of 2500. Saw many more masks than ever before. I did not have one on, but I KNOW I didn't get within 20 feet of anyone. Again, I have been social distancing for years. Spent last week on vacation with my family. Lots of masks. Good to see. SC reported highest case rate… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
Okay then. I had asked if a couple were tested every day for say 9 days and 1 tested positive and 1 negative each day, according to your method that equals 1 positive and 9 negative so 10% of them had the virus. My method has 50% positive, Which is correct? You replied that nobody gets 9 negative tests rather than answer… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
Yale, I agree on the need for well designed RCTs, but in this case I think we have a mountain of observational evidence. Much of it hasn't been reviewed and published, but if we use it as a launching pad to study further it can be very useful. Between the study in the Philippines and the one in Indonesia, there is enough… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
Let me add one comment about the Sweden graphs above: as I have argued, I believe the reason for the recent drop in death rates in the N. Hemisphere is actually due to increasing vitamin D levels in the population. The increasing death rates at high latitudes in the S. hemisphere show that vitamin D is the key reason.… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in 2.0
If you are suggesting that you may be incorrect in your assumption you are. The total under on negatives seem somewhere between 0 and 50k since March 1. Even if %0k the cumulative positive rate would be 10.7% versus 10.9%. My concern is that with inadequate testing and results running 7-10 days there are probably 100k+…
