Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

R.I.P. George Herbert Walker Bush..
I didn't always agree with his policies, but he always put country before party and nobody I know of gave more years of such varied service to this country.
Sorry, but I don't see the harm in dedicating a single thread as a memorial.

No problem, he was a true public servant and statesman. RIP, Mr. President.
No problem here. I believe all American citizens should pay their respects to ANY former president or statesman, regardless of politics.
We will not see this level of service and decent humanity in a big leader again - it feels like anyway
Hopefully we will. Though at this time things are ultra partisan.

A very good athlete as well. Got a hit in a MLB old-timers game of Milt Pappas. Played in the first ever CWS for Yale (were you there Yale Dawg? ) and captained the team. I loved his theme - CAVU - clear ahead, visibility unlimited.. Always aiming high. RIP
Was not there but there is an athletic leadership award in his honor and a picture of HW with that team hanging in the student gym
He was our youngest fighter pilot in WWII, a Director of The CIA, an ambassador to The UN, Veep and POTUS, just to hit the high points.
Heard during a commentary this morning that he was captain of nearly every sports team he was on. A patriot, dedicated to serving others when he could have been serving himself.
RIP
