I understand scheduling Austin Peay and UMass
I can certainly understand why UGA schedules a few cupcakes every year.
My high school softball team had a really good season last year, especially considering how bad they were 4 years ago when me and another coach took over.
We also knew we would be much better this year. So, I decided to schedule some tougher opponents this year for our non district schedule. Thought it would prepare us better for district play.
Well, we have started 1-2 this year and now I have parents expressing concern over our "slow" start. Then I get a "positive" email form our AD this morning letting me know that he is still confident despite our slow start.
I guess I should have scheduled three cupcakes because our parents and AD obviously don't appreciate that our girls started the season playing three teams with a combined record of 72-8 last season.
Frustrating. Thought I'd share something different since football season is over.

And losing is always the coach's fault. Can't possibly be because the other team had better players or executed better that one game.
Cupcakes early to build confidence. Cupcakes late to build depth. Cupcakes for breakfast because they were on the counter. There is always a reason for cupcakes.
