Hate to break the bad news, but Swanson has the SS job locked up unless he reverts back to what he was in 2017 with no bat AND errors. If he keeps playing good defense and hits the occasional HR, he'll be set it and forget it at the 8th spot.
Yes, that means you're putting a likely better hitter on the bench for the majority of the season. No, that does not mean Camargo isn't going to get plenty of at bats, they're planning on more rest for everybody, AA will probably have to pull the strings, but Camargo is going to get 450-500 PAs, IMHO.
Camargo's fielding percentage at SS is pretty comparable to Swanson's, and Camargo clearly has the better bat at this point.
Can't just look at fielding percentage. It doesn't matter if you don't have the best of ranges.
Camargo trumps Dansby in most categories outside of range and fielding percentage, while Camargo has the better arm, which could save runs Dansby might not. Carmargo was also a SS his entire career up until recent, so it's at least his natural position. Camargo might cause the Braves to give up a few more runs with his fielding, but he’ll bat in a lot more than Dansby would save in the field. Camargo has a better OBP, BA, SLG%, HRs, doubles, strikeouts less, more RBIs, much higher WAR, etc. etc.
With that said, Dansby will probably start due to baseball managers sticking with the incumbent starter more so than any other sport, until that person completely fails.

Or trading 5 minor league prospects to rent Tex for a couple months? Those players that went to the Rangers played in back to back World Series.

Trading Simmons was a terrible move, it looked bad then, it looks even worse now. Giving away the best defensive player in baseball while he's still in his early 20s will usually turn out poorly.
