Tom Crean misses on Gwinnett County 5⭐️ Guard

Brandon Boston, a class of 2020 6’6 guard out of Norcross High School dropped his Top 4 and UGA was not in it. Brandon is the #1 player in GA for his class. #8 in the country. Gwinnett County produces a few 4 or 5 star players every year and the Dawgs never seem to get them. The bad part is three of his Top 4 are SEC schools in UK, UF, and AU. I know everyone is excited about the 2019 class but recruiting never stops.

I think we all recognize you win some and lose some. Coach Crean just did something no one hasn’t ever done at Georgia, land a top 6 class. Let’s not panic.

Yep, because of whatever happened with previous regimes (as I'm not involved so I don't know), Georgia is on the bad side with Norcross and it'll be a while before relationships are made up (although Crean might not have helped himself with Kyle Sturdivant). Did pull Hammonds a couple years ago, but most of the Norcross dudes are directed elsewhere because of damaged relationships with them.

I'm just hazarding a guess here, but how much of this can be accounted to Coach Fox (and now Coach Cream) unwillingness to participate in the AAU and other leagues paying for players and access to them? The other schools mentioned as potential landing places for Boston all have that stigma attached...

That's not true. Quite a few Norcross grads have played for Georgia. I'm a Norcross Alum btw.

It's not "all" of the Norcross talent, but it is most of them. I mostly read this in another channel. I don't know "why", but they were saying that Norcross and Georgia has a bad relationship and one case was if JoJo Toppin left it'd make the relationship with Norcross worse.

He was never considering UGA. Duke and Kentucky are the only two who have a shot. Not a real story on UF and why they got a courtesy add, they have no shot. Pearl could sell ice to an eskimp, or maybe it's pay an eskimo to take free ice, but he's a helluva recruiter. No shot he gows to AU though. He is gonna end up a Wildcat.
