Through sheer coincidence we get to celebrate National Rum Day and be patriotic at the same time.

It was instrumental in the unrest that finally became the American Revolution." Without rum and the Sugar Act, we might still be drinking tea with our little pinky stuck up in the air. National Airborne Day
"August 16, 1940, marks the date of the first official Army parachute jump at Ft. Benning, Georgia. The successful jump validated the innovative concept of inserting U.S. ground combat forces behind a battle line by parachute.
