Apparently gave the speech tonight
Absolute bummer. Had Colts +1600 to win the Super Bowl. I worry that people might not remember how good he was. He had 40 TDs in ‘14 with a terrible Oline and 39 TDs this past season. I was excited to see what he could do with a very solid oline and the addition of Devin Funchess and Parris Campbell to Hilton and Ebron.
Saw his speech. I empathize with him. Feel like he could’ve been one of the all time greats
guessing they trade up to take a qb next draft
Most likely Fromm will go pro and land there. They have an experienced o-line to help protect a young QB while he adjusts to NFL speed.
I feel bad for Luck, but not a whole lot. He's still young, rich, famous and relatively healthy.
One thing this reminds me of is just how tough Matt Ryan is. He's taken more abuse than a crash test dummy and he's never had a serious injury.
Most of all I hope Jake goes somewhere that has an advanced offensive system. The ultimate would be to be drafted as Tom Brady's replacement.
Although ideal, teams in the AFC are desperate to dethrone the Patriots. With the Pats success I don’t think they’re even in a position come draft day to sniff Fromm.
I know it is the preseason, but Chad Kelly has played real well for them. He is behind Brisset, but there is some talent there.
A trade is always a possibility.
Worth 60 million and a free degree from Stanford...he is going to be alright.
Money isn’t everything.
Probably sad he has to leave the game he loves and is very good at. His legacy may not be what he wanted it to be. Great pro athletes are wired differently.
Still, it's not exactly a tragedy. Kids with cancer, homeless people, there are truly terrible things in life, this is just a thing.
Wow.
Why does everything have to get to that? Heck kids dying of cancer, forest fires in the Amazon all that make sports completely meaningless obviously.
i never called it a tragedy, just said it was sad. But whatever...please enjoy the last word
Agree. Your health IS everything. Hard to pull away but the game has provided him with some things that not many people are able to enjoy. Glad he will preserve his health to enter the next chapter in his life.
You stop crying for a young rich person who enjoyed 2 decades of hero worship and I'll stop pointing out how ridiculous it is to paint this as some terrible thing.
If he'd been injured at Stanford and missed his opportunity it would have been semi tragic, this is just something to discuss. Last…..word.
