National Name Your Car Day / National Have A Cup Of Coffee With A Cop Day
THis is something I've not really thought of before. Many of us most likely remember Herbie the Love Bug, Lightning McQueen from Cars, Kit from Knight Rider, General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and Bandit from Smokey and the Bandit. These are just some of the famous car names that are known by millions of people.
This is an opportunity to make a day of it. Take the ol’ jalopy out for a spin, a nice wash, and shine and then just maybe you will select a signature meant for one so reliable. After all, you spend all that time together and take such good care of each other, isn’t it time to give those four wheels a name? I'm going to name my 2003 Toyota Tacoma "John" in memory of my dad, a down to earth, non-fancy, hard worker
National Have A Cup Of Coffee With A Cop Day
I was unaware of this National Day before this morning. I'm not sure just how one would go about setting something like this up, but it sounds like a great idea. Like many issues, there is a large polarization in the ways people view the police and getting to know a person on a more "human" level might be helpful.

I call my Subaru Ruby Sue.
Yes, I know, I'm impossibly cool.
Do you think Jeremy Banks will be participating in the National Have a Cup of Coffee with a Cop Day festivities?
That’s funny. Couldn’t hurt.
I have a cup of coffee with a cop every time I’m at home! The wife is a deputy!
Can't help but think of so many inappropriate jokes in response to that (frisking, handcuffs, etc.) , but I'm sure you've heard 'em all from your friends. Lucky dawg!
Yes, I’ve suggested all those to her but I get the typical cop expression every time! Couple that look with the wife’s cold stare and it’s scary!
I have a red Nissan Leaf named Autumn.
Do you make breakfast for dinner after she gets off the beat?
I leave her doughnuts on the bar!! I heard cops love doughnuts!
"Subaru" and "cool" are mutually exclusive.
(Forgive me - had to. I held off for one day.) You get "clever", though.
I used to think so, too. Until my friend got an Onyx. It may not be cool, but I'm getting one next spring.
I owned a Jeep Compass. Should have named it "Hekawi"

The anonymous random off-topic button clicker strikes again!
The thread topic is on naming your car. I comment on the name of my car, which naturally in someone's mind is...
"off-topic"
Been happening too much in the forum lately to simply be a fat finger issue. My all-time off-topic tally has doubled in the past two weeks, from 20 to 40. Took me over a year to hit 20, and just two weeks to rack up the next 20.
I know the clicks don't really mean anything, but it's aggravating. I wonder if the mods have a way to identify folks who just go around DV'ing and OT'ing posts for sh!ts and g!ggles. I'm convinced there are a few like that in the forum.
The user has been deleted. For real, that's what it shows.
And I clicked on their name and it took me to an error page.
