I'm not a fan of the NFL but Lincoln Riley does seem like a good fit for the "Falcons". I think it would be a dumb move for Lincoln tho. I'm sure Oklahoma can match any contract the Falcons can offer. I think he has a better job right now than any NFL team can offer
If the $ are even , is an NFL job better than College HC ???
seems like NFL better..... don’t have to recruit 247
I don't see any value in firing a coach in-season unless the wheels come completely off. Who knows it's possible Quinn rights the ship.
I think he'll be at the top of many wish lists. The Falcons have hired a slew of HCs who came in very sought after only to crash and burn after a bit of success though.
Does it really matter?
I guess both have their perks. Probably the hours are the same, but the ones in the NFL are more focused on football (and managing superstar drama, I’m sure).
There are some more suited to one or the other, and a handful (like Pete Carroll) who have been successful at both (and some, like Jim Mora, Jr., who are terrible at both).
We've had two straight "defensive" coaches. Its time to get a young offensive innovator.
This seems like the consensus. We should target Lincoln Riley, and if he won't bite, then maybe Eric Bieniemy. Does that about sum it up?
Any other good options out there?
We haven't even talked about the GM spot. I think that's one reason Mike McCarthy's name keeps coming up. Blank might give him the keys to the whole thing.
I also wondered if Blank might try to pry Howie Roseman away from Philly, then let him make the decision on HC. But Roseman is under contract through 2022, so I doubt that's feasible.
Eagles VP of Football Operations might deserve a chance to be a GM. Pretty impressive resume:
Would you approve of a Harvard man, @YaleDawg ?!?! 😁
Hey @Teddy, it looks like another Chinese bot came through and DV'ed all of my posts on this thread for no rhyme or reason, if you want to check it out.
I don't favor offense over defense. It's just that I recognize we have one of the best defensive coaches in football running the program. Some like to post to cheer, I like to post about what might make the team better.
Mel Tucker. I just want a solid coach. No more of these showboat motivators. Retreads like McCarthy historically don’t work out.
Or they get the #1 pick and take a mid 2nd round OL.
I just want some W's
They could hire my wife and better results than this crap
I know one thing, if my sons youth football coach was coaching the superbowl we would have a ring
Hard to see Dimitroff going offense, being a Belichick disciple. How he still has the GM role is a serious head scratcher.
Hopefully Blank will get ahead of the rest of the field in this next coaching search. McCarthy would be a good hire, imo.
Did you mean to suggest Ryan Day? The guy who has been tOSU coach for less than a season?
TD has to go, but AB won't seem to cut him loose, been enough reasons in the past.
I was thinking the same thing partner, but I guess you'd see it as a curse where others see it as just typical buzzards luck with DQ pulling out 3 to 4 meaningless wins to screw up draft positioning
I’m a Saints fan, give Quinn a few more years.
Of course....GA logic
*pssst, that's called a joke
