Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Finally.......things may be turning in the right direction

Could someone smarter than me please tell me why players and fans couldn’t sign a Covid-waiver. All these kids saying they want to play and lords knows the fans would sign anything to make it happen. I’m sure you lawyers could argue both sides of that but I don’t like the thought about no CFB at all.
Headed in the right direction...
First day back at school for faculty and staff today. Great to see everyone! Kids come back next Wednesday.
Football team in their second week of practice, as is volleyball.
Great news......actually AWESOME news.
How do you expect a journalist to track these out of season athletes, given privacy protections? I don’t expect these schools to announce anything. Why would they?
He posted the same post in 3 separate threads. Agenda maybe?
Not sure of an agenda, but he definitely feels he has a great idea.

I posed this question a while back. Basically the outcry would be about coercion and putting the players in a position to have to sign not to look bad or lose their spot.
There is also a legality issue about scholarship players signing a waiver.
Another good direction...
Daughter moves into college tomorrow. Past her last test yesterday to get in school, of a different variety (Covid - negative). Was actually worried about that one. No fall college sports for her to watch - hopefully she can experience a lot of that in the spring.
And sending her to college is gonna be cheaper than sending her to high school. So, I just got a raise...
Waivers generally don't stand up in court. Even if waivers were sufficient, there would be a ton of required protocol on the school's behalf. If a kid did sign a waiver and ended up getting sick and dying you can bet some lawyer would find something the school did that was not 100% protocol and go after that. Kind of like all those nit-noid NCAA violations schools are always getting hit with...like buying a recruit's little brother a Happy Meal.
Awesome news.
Hopefully you're holding up well emotionally.
My daughter is a HS senior. We visited 3 campuses last weekend and I teared up twice....just thinking about her leaving.
im not a covid denier, but im also tired of listening to anyone with a cheap title thinking covid makes them some sort of overlord who can tell people how things are gonna be with no questions asked.
college football isnt about me, you, or the overpaid league czars and presidents. its about the kids. if they want to play, figure it out so they can. time to earn some of that ridiculous cash they rake in year after year on the backs of these kids. they work too hard for this to not give them a chance.
this is america, where optimism and the can do winning attitude separates us from the rest. some of this stuff going on just makes me wonder what happened...
I've seen a 97yo shake it off after a few days. And while Saban may be getting older, I wouldn't say he isn't in good health. Hell he's probably in better shape than the majority of us.
Covid fears Saban!
Except that they wouldn't be able to prove he picked up the virus from the football program.
They also wouldn't be able to prove that he wouldn't of got it anyway if we caved and canceled the season.
Of course that wouldn't stop the know it all's from point fingers and saying "told ya so".
