how do you turn off notifications? I accidentally joined a very hot forum and my inbox is filled with notifications

My bookmarks says no discussions found. I’ve been through the entire menu tree for naught. Notifications emails do not have unsubscribe link

Click on settings icon then edit profile. You will see a box on the right . Click notifications preference then change them to what you want.
Look at the star on the thread title to see if it's highlighted. If so click on it and that should stop the emails.
Yeah, sounds like you’ve “starred” or bookmarked a conversation. Are any of the stars (on the right side of the main forum page) a solid color, or different from the rest of the stars? If so, click it to turn notifications off.
Also, are you on mobile or desktop/laptop? May be easier to see/fix on a desktop.

The star shows up the same on my phone as the PC.
No star on phone.
