Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

First college athlete to make money off of the NIL?
Going to be interesting to see how much some major college athletes make.
Comments
Is she in the transfer portal yet?
good for her...hope she makes enough to have to pay taxes...
Nice! I follow her on Tik Tok - her room make overs are so chic. Actually, i am not even sure if you 'follow' people on Tik Tok, and if Im honest... I had to look up how to spell Tik Tok
Reading the article it looks like she was already making money while in high school before before falling under the purview of the NCAA -- this rule change just allowed her to keep doing it. Kind of interesting.
Perhaps a dumb question, but I've had profs tell me there is no such thing. If that's true I'm not sure why they would ask a sleeping student if he was "tired" Anyway,
If you get money from Go Fund Me type social media things, is that "earned income" ? Must it be declared?
The NCAA rule against retaining agents is going to make it harder than it should be for football players and basketball players to gain access to the cash stream that is generated off of their talent.
Boy, Allison Stokke missed out on this opportunity by a decade or so. But I imagine Rickie Fowler is taking pretty good care of her these days.
That explains why Ricky is struggling with his game. Golf takes total concentration. She makes that impossible
Man... thats all I can say
From UGA's position, the school has NIL educational and assistance programs in place. Some courses "for credit" are also included. Not saying it is unique to UGA.
We should all be totally fine with her making a profit off of her likeness. As we are all aware, Aquinas College has been making “millions” off of these poor female athletes for decades. It’s about time
That's a good thing,, but it's also still keeping control on the school's side vs players having independent advocates who would be willing to fight for more than the program is offering. I can see a strong possibility that a players's union will serve the purpose of advocate. That would follow the history of labor. Where lies the power of the many who have little power on their own ?..uniting as one bargaining force.
I'm going to be honest, the TONE of many comments concerning female athletics on male dominated boards seems rather hateful to me.
YES. I’m very happy to see you posting again!
Not saying there may not be truth in what you say. To me the TONE sounds more dismissive than angry. Like women's sports have to be less since they couldn't beat a men's team. they can't run as fast or jump as high etc.
