Discussions on Dawgnation have been really good this week.
It’s been awhile but discussions on Dawgnation have been really good this week.
It’s because some old posters have returned. Some are controversial and some just haven’t been around in a while.
I don’t see who it benefits calling out old posters who return under a new name. Dawgnation needs them even if they are occasionally difficult to deal with.
WC has driven me crazy as much as anyone…..but he has started some very interesting and entertaining threads this week.
Seems like another banned poster may have returned. He’s smart and he contributes. What benefit is it to call him out?
Its been good to hear from others like Yale and denman.
Hopefully mods will let things lie and help Dawgnation continue being an interesting read.

@texdawg you are correct and I as a infrequent poster really enjoy it. I have no issue with banned/ex/trolls posting . I've enjoyed a lot of the input on adding UT and OU and the pros and cons. Looking forward to the season and all the interactions ..

Dawgnation has really needed it.
May not have the insider “expert” recruiting info any longer. But we can actually have good discussions on the quickly changing landscape in college football.
They’ve each signed up three times. I don’t think me rubbing them a little is going to send them away.
And I’m sure once football season starts the ones I really don’t like will come back haha.
Lets just all hope they can stay on their meds. /s
I honestly miss the wild west days of football forums. The old AJC comment section was like that. And we we're actually mostly cordial to each other.
I had an old email chain of some top posters that was born from that. Even had a Gator fan that joined in with us. Sadly that email group fizzled off... I sometimes wonder if any of those guys are still around here today.
Those anything goes places seem to be disappearing. It's kind of like Vegas becoming a "family friendly" destination. Got to herd the cattle after all.
After being a way from my family in a hotel for 5 nights and working 70 hours in that time and being so stressed, it helped to just read the forum on my phone last night and relax.
Tex, I agree that there has been some great discussions and debates this week. A few factors include the the news about OU and Texas, SEC Media days, NIL contracts and about a month before CFB kickoffs. Good and fun times ahead for sure.
Regarding certain posters and the Mods, we (the Mods) manually approve all members that register for the board. We know who has been here before and will give 95% of them the chance to come aboard and post again, as long as they don't break the board rules that got them banned in the first place. That's pretty much all we ask. We have quite a few current posters that are here in a 2nd or 3rd life and bring some good conversation to the board. May poke at them about their previous "lives" only as a subtle reminder as to not follow that path again. At least that's why I do it.
Fair enough. And I know you have a thankless job and there are rules that need to be followed. But sometimes pretty smart people can be difficult to get along with but they bring great discussion.
Hopefully they’ll do what they can to avoid getting banned and you guys try to let somethings pass.

I think some posters either are or have been hard core Dawg fans, but just not savvy online, they post as if just shooting the sh with another Dawg fan. Communication has been the key to people since the beginning, and the internet/forums can be a great form, but it can also be a very misunderstood form. I have commented on different platforms and was literally astonished and baffled by the replies, people not understanding what I truly meant and the intentions behind the comment, and it’s frustrating and embarrassing, you start letting your fingers get the best of you and say regrettable things, then you don’t go back because you feel like an idiot. Im only speaking from what a friend of a friend told me….
Maybe folks continue to gravitate towards this place because they learned a lot from this forum, because despite any negative interactions on here, at the end of the day it’s guaranteed that we all love the exact same thing, and get frustrated and overjoyed about the exact same thing, them Dawgs!

I also have trouble communicating exactly what I meant sometimes. The mind runs faster than the fingers can type. Well... some minds.
Yes I remember those early AJC board days well. Prior to that I represented the G back when The Hive just started. Battling Nerds was a hoot - we had some really good banter in those days.
