Kirby Smart made it clear he liked his young inside linebackers last year. We just didn’t get to see very many snaps from them given the Bulldogs had Nakobe Dean, Channing Tindall and Quay Walker on the roster. All three were taken in the first 100 selections of the 2022 NFL Draft, with Dean also winning the Butkus Award for being the nation’s top linebacker.

Just think: a couple of years ago, Georgia's best LB was probably Tae Crowder, a 2 star RB recruit. While we all love underdog stories - and the combination of the excellent coaching that he received and the hard work that Crowder put in resulted in his being the starting LB of the New York Giants - if the goal is to win titles you are simply better off with the 4 and 5 star recruits. (Ideally Georgia Tech is the place for the likes of Crowder, and hopefully they will get a good coaching staff capable of identifying and developing them soon, like they did when Chan Gailey and Bobby Ross were around.) It shows just how much Kirby Smart has upgraded the talent in Athens.

I'm wondering how Xavien Sorey is looking. Seems pretty similar to Mondon.

I also am wondering who might come closest to matching the incredible pursuit speed that Channing Tindale brought off of the bench.
