Move ON! Good choice. Interesting decision to be made. Stick with Monkens system which new QBs have been practicing or do we switch to BoBo system ?

Don't overstate the Jimmy's and Joe's. Coaching and play calling matters just as much as Jimmy's and Joe's. The most recent college example that comes to mind is TCU. They fired Gary Patterson after a 3-6 start to the season and hired Sonny Dykes and one season later, with almost the same Jimmy's and Joe's, they played for the National Championship. In the NFL, Jerry Jones thought more of his players than of Jimmy Johnson and has been circling the drain ever since.

I am a huge Bobo fan and I hope right out of the gate he softens the blow of losing Monken because it is a blow!!

Not that you are necessarily wrong but TCU did significantly transform their roster with portal transfers, most of whom wound up in their 2 deep. As TCU won a ton of close games this year, clearly that talent infusion made a difference.

Run Monken's system Bobo! As much as you can...you learn the QB's verbiage primarily, instead lf them please. That is what the best coaches do. And we want one of the best in you Mike Bobo. I know you can do it, at least you proved did before at UGA. Averaged more per game your last year than Monken in 2022. Impressive. Now don't screw it up. You learn what the QB's already know that you do not yet know and gently convert to yours over the next 3 years. Hopefully yours and Monkens will be woven together.

I cannot remember, but I will say this just in case, keep the TE's a priority. So we can keep them happy and keep the best in the nation coming to UGA. Receivers will be happy for sure.

Congratulations Bobo! Just remember to run the ball

Err ... Bobo's offenses were much better at running the ball than Monken's. One of the reasons why I am one of the few people that is actually welcoming this switch.

Bobo's system IS Monken's system. Coaches take the best from every stop and use it. It is a proven system that the players know. The play caller is now the difference. And the QB. Bobo may have more play calling flexibility with a bigger armed QB in '23.

The Ravens are known for their mobile QB. Does Baltimore now draft SBIV? He will be there to be taken in most (all?) of the rounds. Knows the system inside out after 3 yrs. It will be interesting to see if Monken gets Balt to snap him up.

I am very happy to have Mike Bobo as our OC. He is UGA through and through and did a great job when he had some talent to work with.

Monken had a chance to be part of something historic but bailed to the NFL. Another reason to never watch the NFL again.

As a member of the DawgNation diaspora based in Cleveland, Ohio, I remember Monken's tenure with the Browns very well. Even with one of the best young running backs in the league (our very own Nick Chubb of course), Pro-Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry and a first-rate O-line, the team went 6-10. Of course there was Baker Mayfield, but that's another story. Monken was a fantastic OC for UGA but he is not magic. Bobo has a wealth of experience, is a true DGD, and I believe he will be a valuable part of next season's attempt at a third Natty.

@UGADad20 ...you and I don't always see things eye-to-eye...but, I think you're 100% on target, with your post. I expected this move after 2023. Not this year. Oh well...six of one...half dozen of the other. In retrospect...the timing makes sense...to UGA, Monkin, Bennett & Baltimore.

Monkin may have decided to leave this year...BECAUSE of Bennett. Monkin and Bennett may have had this pact, going back to, before last season. Which would explain Bennett's comment, the morning after the 2021 CFPC. You know....the questioning of whether he could trust what the Coach was telling him (or something to that effect).

It also, may be why Bennett didn't attend the Senior Bowl. He already knows where he's going. The only thing that could throw a **** wrench into their plan, is if somebody drafts him higher than expected.

It also, may be why Manning decided to go to TX, rather than UGA. Monkin knew he was leaving after this season. Baltimore cleared a spot for him and cleaned out the QB room to allow him to build his own.

In other words...this has been in the cards for quite a while...and now, we know.

As far as the Dawgs, going forward.....

You wanted a more prolific passing game. With Bobo...it's coming. And, fortunately for UGA, they have just the QB, for Bobo to succeed...Carson Beck. And, a bevy of talented receivers. Of course, Stockton can do it, too...IMO.

BVG? Not so much. Brock isn't a Bobo style QB. I look for him to transfer in the next portal "window". BVG reminds me of Bryce Ramsey...the QB turned punter out of Camden Co., Ga..

I always liked Bobo. He became an outstanding OC under Richt...but, he didn't start out that way. I think Bobo is ready to come into his own. And, this switch has been planned for more than a year.

If Bobo holds true to his MO...look for the Dawgs to run a potent, quick strike, fast paced offense, mixing a prolific running game with a downfield passing game. With a few new wrinkles. I'm sure he's added a few arrows to his quiver, and he's always been a good QB Coach.

I still remember that 2012 offense. Lol...the Dawgs had an unlucky break at the end of the 2012 SECCG that cost em a Natty. Bobo is still hungry.

    Go Dawgs!

My only concern is the effect this might have on recruiting.
