Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Oh, wow…..
@MikeGriffith What are you even talking about? "Again, unfortunately, people don't want to discuss the good news as much or see how Kirby and his players are moving forward. To me, that's a fantastic story." That is what we fans care about. Haven't clicked once on an AJC article or yours on JC's issues with the law.
@MikeGriffith My problem with your writing has a lot to do with your articles titles. If you had said, “Carter Settles With ACCPD” then I probably wouldn’t have made fun of it.
Ironically, when I listen to DawgNation Daily. I typically enjoy your comments because you are a little more honest and forthcoming with your feelings. Even last week, I thought that you addressed the issue better than BA did.
Maybe if someone would have reigned in some folks at the sister company a few weeks ago this would be a non issue.
The idea that somehow Smart is personally responsible for what other people do in their spare time is absurd. I spent 20 years as a Marine Officer with extreme accountability responsibilities over large numbers of people (most of which were under 25). I've had people under my charge do all sorts of vile things such as murder, sexual assault, incest (that one was disturbing), drug dealing, spouse abuse and other awful things. Even in a tightly controlled environment like the military where leaders have a unique responsibility to maintain discipline and establish an acceptable standard of conduct on and off duty, sometimes people just do bad things. It's not always about what happened, it's about what are you doing about it. If you have spent any amount of time in the military you know that "Safety Briefs" are ubiquitous. I used to start out all my safety briefs with "I know you guys are tired of all the safety briefs, but do you know why we have so many safety briefs? It's because y'all keep doing s.tupid stuff". And that's the truth. People keep doing dumb things no matter how much guidance and leadership you provide.
Smart could only be responsible if he knew about the racing ahead of time and did nothing about it or tried to cover it up. All these people trying to make Smart personally responsible have never been in charge of others. Why stop at Smart? Maybe the AD shares responsibility. How about the UGA President? Those are his students.
As for the AJC, they are just trying to get clicks and remain relevant. This is what journalism has become.
