I don't think Mike's a bad guy at all. I have taken up for him on several occasions, even on his reporting of SB. Maybe it's YOU who hasn't been around here that long to observe seeing that you're just a "Junior" commenter.
I'm looking for possible reasons why Mike does seem to overdo the SB history lesson for forum readers. He wouldn't be a bad guy for believing he needed to be redundant for new readers or if clicks determined his pay some how.
I haven't determined Mike has any ill will towards SB as some on here believe he has and is just out to get him. Have a good one.
Man y'all all need to chill lol. Mike made context to why he mentioned his recent low point but y'all just act like it wasn't there. And he condensed it.
Did you not see the part about that it must have felt really good for Stet getting the honor after the negative press he's been through and saying that his reputation was ruined? Then now gets to throw out the first pitch for the home season opener for the recent world champions in his home state and hear applause. Mike is right, it must have sounded like Heaven to him!
And sorry but writers write for everyone, not just for us addicts who read every uga article every day. We might have a problem lol if it gets to us that much. Maybe a bunch of us might need to get our uga news on a blog instead because rehashing is in every freaking article almost, about anyone, any topic in here!
As far as Mike goes, he writes about topics or angles others don't often cover or don't at all. And he isn't the homer others are and he shoots straight and is good at his job and very good at times.
Like when he called out before anyone in the planet even considered it so soon, that Dan mullen was done, called Florida a dumpster fire on finebaum for the world to hear. Finebaum couldn't believe it. I couldn't either.
Talk about a hot take at that point in time, nobody had uttered anything close to that. It was basically Mullen had to do better in the next couple of seasons, etc or he would be on the hot seat. Heck he had beaten UGA once. I believe it may have been well prior to the start of that season too, when Mike said this, but could be wrong. But the buzz around Mullen included nothing about him being out anytime soon. But later that season, after UGA romped em, sure enough Dan was no longer the man.
And I understand also that the worst offender by far, Connor, is on vacation so Mike is pulling double duty. I was actually wondering if they let Connor go but no.
It's a holiday weekend, Mike is pulling double duty, he didn't just rehash the negative news about Stetson, it had a purpose and made the point of how good Stetson had to feel after the last few months. Sure beats just copy and pasting every detail of what happened like it's first time being reported to fill space. And that's it.
And back to Conner, he seems much better on video talking, than he does writing, most of the time. Most articles seem like ok here is the news or topic and then all copy and paste. Once in awhile he surprises me with something in depth that isn't mostly all old news just added to a new headline. I remember one click bait one like that, I posted that he shouldn't get paid
