David Pollack among those laid off by ESPN
David Pollack will not be on the College GameDay set this fall. Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports that Pollack is among those who have been laid off by ESPN.

Wow, I’m very surprised at this. He was always really good IMO, and seemed popular with fans.
Pollard over Pat McAfee any day!!! And I'll go one step further; Pollard over Desmond Howard, too. I'm also shocked at the firing of Todd McShay. They should fire Stephen A. (loudmouth) Smith.
Hate it for Pollack--DGD! He will definitely hook on somewhere!
What about McShay ---Unexpected but to most UGA fans there won't be a lot of tears....
But of course they'll never get rid of the Big 10 Fan Boys Herbstreit and Howard....what ever they do they better keep away from Laura and Baby Reese!!!!!
Wow, ESPN is really **** wind right now. Will they even be around to cover the SEC in a couple of years?
Suzy Kolber 27 years and David Pollack 14 years will be big losses for ESPN. Todd McShay will be fine wherever he lands as will Pollack.
Disney owns ESPN and their plan is to lay off 7,000 employees. Those 7,000 employees account for about 3.2% of their total workforce. These layoffs are part of a plan to cut cost at an estimated $5.5 billion. Disney has been hit hard the last 3 years for mainly 3 reasons, Covid, the economy, and their decisions on many matters.
"They got rid of David Pollack so we could all listen to Pat McAfee yell nonsense into a mic for 3 hours." As good an explanation as any. Maybe Saban didn't appreciate Pollack's comments during the TCU massacre.
Could it be David's politics do not align with those making decisions as to Disney's political leanings? Will I watch ESPN? I will only watch UGA games; nothing else, and I will still fell guilty for having done so. Professionally speaking, David is light years ahead of many of the clowns who weren't axed.
The SEC may want to re-think who they sigh their next TV contract with #1, first and foremost. ESPN and SEC fans in general, do not see eye-to-eye on much of anything.
ESPN/Disney are akin to being the "Bud Light" of TV sports.
From an old fogey’s perspective. Looks like several of the big names terminated had reasonable deliveries in their tone of speech. ESPN is trying to stay hip with the loud controversial announcers.
Ijl
if we are intellectually honest here, I think it is clear that ESPN has a real bias against the UGA football program. David Pollack was our presence on ESPN. It is no coincidence that his statements that UGA is on top of the mountain in front of Saban the old goat as we demolished TCU was his last game. The DawgNation should not take this affront sitting on our thumbs.
I won’t watch gameday as much now. They get rid of Pollack but they keep all the bone heads on the sec nation or the sec final shows, except for Watson.
Except for Paul Finebaum and the UGA games ESPN televise I would never watch the crappy channel. Every show they have sucks with loud mouth liberals shouting and spouting their useless trash. Most of their shows act like they are soap operas and only the brain dead would waste a moment of life on them.
Nick got him fired lol. Calling UGA the current "Kings of College Football," right in his face.
