Heard what I think may be the worst cover I have ever heard today on indy radio, got me thinking this might be a good off-season thread. Any nominations? (And yes, football can't get here fast enough.)
Too hard for me to deal with. I hate so many covers. There ought to be a law. Even by singers I usually like, covers leave me feeling meh.

That one is bad, but I think a non-binary cotemporary honky-tonk cover of a '90s Irish alternative break-up song tops it. And that's before they replaced the guitar solo with a recorder.

@Chopper You asked. I cannot believe I found this one, or that I even bothered to look? This is a horrific compilation of several sickening amateur attempts, AND IT IS SO VERY BAD, that you might really try to stab yourself in the eye with a pencil. So be WARNED!!! Get all of the "handy", and nearby sharp objects away and out of your reach if you even dare to click on, and then actually listen to this YouTube video of all of this amateur audio v-o-m-i-t, gutter sewage that it contains. The entire collection here is only 3:19 long. However, instead of just three minutes, and nineteen seconds... it quickly feels like it won't ever end fast enough! I don't believe that anyone in our forum here can stand more than perhaps just 15 to 20 seconds of this one. It really is THAT BAD!!!

I would suggest these folks record themselves and listen to the recording before going on stage again. Clearly they haven't. the heck with licensing guns. We need to license guitars. Isn't there some amendment that can prevent these types of things.

A german band, Das Ich, did a cover of This Corrosion with Bag Pipes that is either brilliant or the worst thing ever created. I can't decide which.
on the more mainstream front, I always thought Metallica’s cover of Turn the Page was awful. Once I realized Hetfield was putting a ‘Muh’ or ‘Nuh’ at the end if every line, I couldn’t not hear how rediculous it was that he was trying so hard to make it sound tough or metal.

It’s interesting how age plays into it. When I was younger I loved cover songs. Now I hate them. I would just rather have the original.
