ATHENS — One of the key pillars of the Georgia program under Kirby Smart has been elite offensive line play. The Bulldogs have regularly been finalists for the Joe Moore Award and have become an assembly line for the NFL at the position.

Supposedly we recruit the best, so why isn't third string ready? Go back and look and see what the ratings were out of high school. I think you'll notice a difference since Stacey Searls has been there.

Also, they backups aren't ready. Why? why did bobo move over to guard. We've played Freshmen before. Why isn't the third string guy ready? Honestly, it's like they are just a little lazy. They don't prepare to be ready. Saban had this problem when he played UGA for the Championship. His Backups at WR just weren't ready. His coaches didn't have them prepared. It's extra effort, extra coaching. Maybe more coaching. It's a problem. Champions opperate at a 99% level, not 78% level.

You don't need the decimal point for total team sacks and TFL.

By the way, the problem with the O Line coach is fundamentally a problem created by Mike Bobo, who needs to go by seasons end. We may have lost the really good one to Georgia Tech, Buster F. Smart needs to avoid being Dabo and Mark Richt, he needs to start working on finding the new OC.

Every week you hear the statement from one offensive lineman or another: "We've got to get better." No S**t! The line is playing worse every week, and right now they're playing like it's December. They better get their heads and behinds wired together or Tennessee is going to tee off like Ole Miss did, and we're going to be going to a 2nd tier bowl and be fortunate to get that. Unmotivated, lackadaisical, laughing and joking after a loss and acting like they'd rather be anywhere else except playing for the Georgia Bulldogs.

UGA missing the 12 team playoff !?! That was unthinkable at the beginnig of the season. Now it looks in jeopardy.

GIve the coaches more raises and Christmas bonuses and let's all talk about our great recruiting class!

Maybe Hope will show herself at UGA in the Spring.

Correct Answer: Coaching (including development and mindset). And that's not just Searels, but the HC and the OC. Go Dawgs!

Greene's "left shoulder injury" was not a factor in MS DE's blowing by him like he was a speed bump. Now UGA rushed TRat back and looks like he reinjured himself. Dumb. Didn't need him for FU now UGA may be w/o him for must win TN.

Never impressed w/Fairchild. More of a finesse OL not in the road grader mold of typical UGA OL. Had high hopes for Morris but he hasn't improved in 2 years. Truss seems better suited for OG. Freeling seems like another finesse OL.

Searles had pretty good results at NC with lesser talent. His inability to coach up this group is puzzling. As for Matt Luke, he is a good coach but he didn't keep up the recruiting standard of Pittman. Seeing the effects of that now. In Luke's defense it is hard to recruit 5* players when there are 5* and high 4* players already stacked up in the program.

The TP and NIL have changed the game of CFB. For years Alabama stockpiled talent at every position sold on Saban's recruiting prowess and AL's winning championships. Then those players were restricted from transferring by the old transfer rules.

With NIL, teams have a self imposed "salary" cap. They can't dole out money like the government under Biden. Teams have to pick and choose who they pay coming in, how much and what does that do the locker room dynamic. Consequently, the teams that dig deep and pay out are taking the players that Saban and Smart used to stockpile.

There is talent on the UGA OL. It is underdeveloped and underperforming.

All these comments from my fellow Dawgs fans here pretty much sum it up. Excuses don’t win football games. These Coaches are handsomely paid, most of us would be Very happy with just half of what they make.

We keep hearing the repeated refrain Need To Get Better. Yeah, So When ?? After we miss the playoffs ?? Or lose the first game IF we get to the playoffs ?? I’m glad all these people from all sorts of vocations don’t keep saying Need to get better. 😡

Ohio State has a much softer schedule than Georgia does. I'm not sold on Penn State being formidable. And the Dawgs went on the road and actually did beat the team that would be #1 right now if not for their 15-point loss to Georgia.

I love in the article it says Jared Wilson got hurt during the win at Alabama, I must have missed that rematch, lol! Anyways yes the o-line has been a problem, but didn't we just recruit the best o-line class in the past recruiting cycle of 2024? Didn't I see where they average 6'6 with an average weight of 340IBs? I think the tallest is 6'10! Those are some large human beings, you can't tell me 1 or 2 are not ready today and would be maulers to move people to help the running game. I saw someone say that Truss is a OG, but I have always thought he was the weak link and looks very out of shape and slow when I watch him.

Another thing we need to do is get Luckie more involved in the game plan, he has been our most consistent threat when he gets the ball and actually catches the ball without drops. It's like we recruited all these 5 star and 4 star TE's, like Randell who is on the roster now, but will not use them because we no longer have Bowers. TE's are a major disadvantage to defenses and will open up the WR's and running game.

Lastly, we did recruit 3 good backs in this class, Bowens especially, and have not seen them play any snaps…we need to start getting these guys playing time because I think both Robinson's are done for the year unfortunately and ETN is banged up.
