Man, is this spot on… of all the "advice" handed out in the DN comments sections (including mine), this seems not only logical (most of what I've read from others seems to be so also), but very actionable in a short time. One has to wonder "why not?" on some of the things you mention. We obviously don't have all the info (like the readiness of certain freshmen on Offense), but almost all of your reco's can be done/achieved… IF the coaching staff has their act together. Perhaps that's the bigger issue?
I've seen the Defense adjust nicely, both in-game and between halves… not so much from the Offense. Take all the talent you mentioned (it does not seem overhyped… it's real talent) and it ultimately comes down to coaching/leadership.
I'm fairly certain that (at least individually) Beck, Bobo, and Searles are capable of high performance… in fact, I think all of them are quite strong in terms of raw talent personally. However, together? Clearly not working. The evidence is not just on-the-field, but off it as well… whether on the sidelines, on campus, or in a squad car.
Kirby used to harp on culture constantly… notice he hasn't hardly at all recently? And notice how rough he looked at the presser where he (appropriately or not) threw uncharacteristic barbs at Pope? He knows the culture, at the very least on Offense, that he spent years building and delivered multiple Championships is broken. So, is it temporary or something bigger? He can't do it alone and several of the most prominent leaders seem to be at the root of the problem.
Finally, on your point around the editing SNAFU (wish we'd won at Bama!), I've finally given up on my daily DN editing/proofing error count… too many to keep track of 🤣🤣🤣
I was fussing about the run game last season. nothing has changed. RB's have to jump cut to create on their own runs as they are being met behind the line of scrimmage., as there are consitently no openings created by the O-line.
In the first possesiion by BAMA against LSU the BAMA line opened a whole the size of Texas and I was almost in shock! So, that's what O-line blocking looks like!
One of my pet peeves on a run play, is they just don't play to the whistle. How many times do you see a back stopped, stood up, being pushed back and three or more linemen standing around. It's really magnified on short yardage plays. Just haven't seen the cohesiveness on the O-line in a while.
The 2026 commits are lacking (so far). Dang vols have more commits that the dawgs! I know it's early but they way they are playing could turn some kids away. Better get on it coach!
@E_Roc…I know, it's hard to see Penn State as anything more than a pretender when it comes to winning big games, but I do think they are better this season than usual. And we'll get another eye test for Ohio State when they play Indiana in Columbus. I think they will give the Hoosiers a good enough beatdown by the 2nd half. If the Hoosiers upset the Buckeyes in Columbus then obviously that team is for REAL. But as it stands today, Ohio State's resume includes a VERY close loss to Oregon and a win at Penn State. That's not a bad resume. Unfortunately, the B1G doesn't have as many really good teams (or above average teams) this season as the SEC. Personally though, I still pick the Buckeyes as the ultimate National Champion, because I do think they have gotten better and are gelling more as a team - thanks in part to better play by the O-line - finally. I think if they play Oregon again for the B1G Championship that they will win it. If Indiana ends up playing Oregon then I will go with the Ducks.
Suggestion : simplify the process. Block the guy in front of you. Get lower than they do on short-yardage runs, especially at goal line. It’s ain’t complicated, it’s football. Get back to the basics.
I'll say this again. There are big problems on the offensive line. When you rush for 59 rushing yards on 33 attempts you've got issues. One example was a hand off to Cash Jones. As he looked to find a gap ALL four Ole Miss defensive linemen zeroed in on him. Our guys were blocking air. Was the snap count too obvious? And Beck had very little time to get rid of the ball as the pass rush was consistently in his face (5 sacks) because our perimeter blocking is terrible. So to beat the rush we start to throw screens and quick routes and the WRs couldn’t beat press man coverage. You can blame Beck, you can blame Bobo, but if you can't block up front and win the trenches then regardless of what play you call it really won't matter. Just the same results.
The o-line coach and the oc has been here before with no success.
"Still" getting political? I never get political. But since you decided to I will respond. My point was that some programs are spending like they are printing money in the backroom. TX, aTm, tOSU, OR immediately come to mind (after the government). Kinda like the government has been doing the last 4 years.
There is no denying that this last administration has spent recklessly and excessively. And wasted tons of our money on some ridiculous spending. Trump increased military spending and almost half of his spending was response to the china virus pandemic.

This administration misrepresented (lied) the crime stats and job creation stats. Why would you expect them to not misrepresent the national debt stats? The whole time this last crew was gaslighting Americans. Based on the election results most legal voters saw through it.
BTW your article showed the slope of the debt graph under Trump but conveniently stopped when he left office.

Not to mention the money they DESIRED to spend(if not for checks and balances) on the Green NEw Deal/Climate Change and Student Loan Forgiveness, and the money they did spend on Illegal immigrants, flights, hotels, debit cards, free healthcare and phones, 71 billion more to to Iran than it would have under Trump, a terrorist state, and 174 billion to Ukraine.
