The Stockton high school stat line needs a Georgia Tech grad to compile it all up.

Is that because they have six fingers on each hand and a mix of toe counts?
I’ll take a University of Georgia graduate in anything any day over a tech person.

I have absolute faith in Stockton getting it done. I would have loved more game experience but that mystery could also play into how we beat the opponents.

To be clear, and I know some won’t agree, I’d prefer a healthy Beck as he is a darned good quarterback. He needs his offense to show up but, in the event he can’t make it, I know Gunner will be ready to take the reins and lead the team to the wins and the NC.

What I remember about Gunner is the HS playoff game Rabun COunty had with one of the HS teams in Thomasville. That team sacked GS(no exaggeration I don't believe) 12-13 times, plus he ran it several times and took some hard hits and each time they sacked him or tackled him Gunner just popped back up and went right back to work unfazed ,seemingly. They took a loss but as I'm watching this game my thoughts were this kid won't quit! THere's no quit in him.

This article sums up Stockton's biggest challenge and my biggest worry about him. He averaged 5 TD per game in HS! He has been conditioned over 4 years to carry his team. He tries to play hero ball on every play. Did he ever learn how to be a game manager? He doesn't need to carry UGA on every play. He can't try to win the game for UGA on every play. You saw it in his 2 runs vs TX and in his ill advised INT.

He needs to settle down, settle in and use the talented players around him. He needs to use these 3 weeks of practice to gain confidence in his reads and delivering the ball on time and on target for even just a handful of plays he can count on. His defense can hold the opposition down as long as the offense doesn't turn the ball over.

This kid is a pit bull. He has no reverse. But a QB has to be able to make the right decision when to push it, try to force it and when to save it for the next play. Time to be cerebral and not try to be superman.
