I’m Glad they have our Dawgs as the underdog. They seem to play better coming in as underdogs. ND crushed IU but that’s not really saying that much. They just copied what Ohio St. had done earlier.
IU was a pretty decent team and they beat teams of the same level. But Ohio St. and ND were simply over their head. I don’t see ND running through the Dawgs Defense as they did vs IU. But I very much Do see the Dawgs able to run against ND with better success than the Hoosiers.
Dawgs get the running game going and it’ll open the short to intermediate passes for Stockton with an occasional deep pass to keep Em honest.
Gunner Stockton is gonna pleasantly surprise allot of Dawgs fans and shock & awe allot of rival fans on Jan 1st. Go Dawgs !!
I hope Bobo calls a deep pass on the first play so Notre Dame will know they'll have to defend the entire field.
This is still the same notre dame team that lost to a pitiful 7th place conference finisher in Northern Illinois. DAWGS aren't an overrated Indiana team. Notre dame will find that out on Jan 1..GoDAWGS!
He has several times and Beck threw it on a dime. Maybe this time Arian Smith actually catches the ball.
I expect a win. I always expect a win but this time I’m looking to shut people up for good. At some point you’d think they would understand. Don’t bet against the Dawgs.
Indiana looked very much like they didn't belong. Didn't belong on the same field with Notre Dame. Didn't belong in the playoffs.
The game - in spite of the score - was a beatdown, a blowout, and an embarrassment to Indiana, their conference, and the committee.
Notre Dame was certainly impressive, but they've looked impressive against similar teams all season.
Don't get me wrong. The Irish are fully capable of beating our Dawgs. We may lose the Sugar Bowl. It's not about who we're playing though. It's all about us. If we bring the game I'm expecting us to bring, the game I know is within our capacity, we will win the Sugar Bowl. It's all about us.
Being an underdog increases that likelihood.
Go, Dawgs!
first, why are people saying gunner doesn’t have the same arm as Carson? Except for seccg, where he did fine, he hasn’t really had need or opportunity to demonstrate just how good his arm is.
Second, notre dame, Indiana as well, may have great offensive and defensive stats, but except for decent Louisville and USC teams, nd didn’t play anyone who could expose them. And, usc likely wins that game without throwing two 90 yard pick-sixes. Really would like to have seen them play Tech with a healthy Haynes king.
That line could definitely change to Georgia being favored before the game starts. Hopefully it won’t because it’s just more bulletin board material for the Dawgs! Go Dawgs! Beat ND!
“Indeed, backup quarterback Gunner Stockton is not the thrower Beck is, but he brings enough mobility to the position to provide a threat.”
If GS can lead the Dawgs offense down the field methodically and effectively, one first down after another, they will be fine. If they possess the ball for 5+ minutes per drive and finish it off in the end zone and let that defense come out fresh and rested, ND will be finished early. There ya go Mike Bobo, what else do you need?
GO DAWGS!
As usual, turnovers and who controls the LOS wins this game. Both teams are run first, play action. Both QBs provide a running threat. Which team can sustain drives, make and prevent big plays?
Always good to be the underdog.
Give me Kirby Smart with extra time to prepare against anybody any day.
Notre Dade getting Indiana in the first round was a joke and likely has N D feeling overconfident.
Dawgs by 7 - 17.
"Indeed, backup quarterback Gunner Stockton is not the thrower Beck is, but he brings enough mobility to the position to provide a threat."……that maybe true, but from what I witnessed last night, Gunner is a lot better passer and would run rings around "wiggling Riley"….The Dawgs pass rush will shut down The Mighty Virgins explosive completions and take out the busted coverage and Jeremiyah Love's 98 yard run…he only ran for 10 yards….The Dawgs will shut down ND's run game. I can live with 11 days of "Under Dawg"…..cause on Jan 1, 2025 it'll be "shove the shillelagh down the Leprechaun's throat" and "take his pot-o-gold" to the Orange Bowl.
I'd be totally embarrassed as a ND fan……allowing an obviously weaker team to score 14 points on you in the last 2 minutes.
WOW! Notre Dame's defense was dominant. Their defensive line stopped IU cold and the perimeter wasn't available either. Their speed reminded me of some of our defences. I don't think this is going to be a high scoring game—let's hope our OL is healthy and blocks their &ss off. I agree—turnovers and special teams play may decide this game.
Gonna bet my future inheritance on the Dawgs!
I have the S t u p I d question of the year award. Why are all these playoff teams getting to play in their Home stadium, where as the #2 seed Dawgs play in NOLA ??
