I’m trying to keep an open mind about this but Kirby and Etienne gotta know something all of us don’t. I can’t speak to what, but Etienne coming back to run behind the 102nd best line is kinda puzzling
I said it before the season started, this team would go as far as the OL would take them. You could see the deficiencies last season, but the level of talent on offense was enough to overcome them. Not so much this year, this OL had no cohesiveness and at times looked lost. No matter who the QB is, they better find a true LT, or it's going to be a lot of the same. GATA!!!
We need a new o-line coach and a new oc.
@Vetdawg
And where would Trevor Etienne go? His stats and lack of long runs means he has no shot at getting drafted. In the portal he would draw no interest from major schools, or even the more prominent mid major ones, except as proven depth. Athens, a top 10 team where he is guaranteed the starting job, is his best situation next season by a mile.
how has he not been canned yet. This is bs.
for the o-line to improve in 2025, we will need a different o-line coach. It ain’t complicated, it’s football.
we need a better o-line play next year than we had this year. Of course, we will be doing this with a MUCH less experienced players.
I’m afraid that if Searls is back our O line will stink again in 2025. I love ole Kirby and So grateful for all he’s done. But he’s got to have the leadership to Fire people when necessary in order to remain being an elite program.
This is from an article in Saturday Down South: Per Pro Football Focus, Quinn Ewers faced pressure on a lower percentage of his total drop-backs this season (26.6%) than any other SEC starter except Georgia’s Carson Beck.
Run blocking is what needs work. The statistics on pass blocking speak for themselves, regardless of what it felt like. His interceptions weren’t necessarily from being under pressure.
