Lol....man!!! You nailed it, didn'tcha? Great post on all points.

To add perspective [I hope]...I would ask ANY fan of any gridiron sport, the following question....

"What would make you more pleased with your School's CFB Program?

A.....Competing for a Championship with a team that depends on defense and the running game.…throwing the ball 5 to 10 times per game?

    OR

B..…Looking flashy and putting up tons of yards and points.…but, losing due to a "Me Culture" that focuses on individual performance, rather than team goals and execution. [I point to USC in 2023 and Colorado in '23 & '24 as examples]....oh yeah....and, all Florida Teams. Lol

You're right....the Dawgs are gonna be fine. For now. But, how long will it take for the creeping fungus of NIL/TP to erode the integrity of some of the Country's strongest Programs? Like UGA.

IMO...OSU has already gone all-in and will soon feel the effects of that. There's no turning back, once you buy-in....cause, the players that should have been developing and gaining game-experience in '24 [if player development was embraced]...were replaced on the roster by "Soldiers of Fortune".

Who do you replace em with next year? You gotta go back to the portal, right?. Or, bite the bullet and take some losses, in the name of development.

IMO....NIL/TP is like a drug taken for instant gratification. But, it comes at a cost. Colorado is gonna highlight that cost, when Deion Sanders and they crew, leave town.

It's a lot easier, for a strong Recruit & Development Program to shift focus to the Portal, than it is for a Portal Program to go back to recruiting and developing young players. And, why develop young players, only to lose em to the Portal?.

Yep.…IMO…..NIL/TP is a Fungus, eating away at the quality of the game & football IQ and development of "the player". We'll see the results in the NFL, soon enough.

this is an article wasted! It’s been well documented that Downs dad blocked him from coming to UGA bc they never offered a scholarship to his brother, Josh Downs, who now plays for the Colts in the NFL. How this staff didn’t know this from last year just shows DawgNation writers do not do their homework. Just as the reports of Bobo stepping down next week.

    Time to ignore benzone's posts:

    Why?

They are examples of ignorance, disdain for others opinions on this board, lack of respect for the program that has done great things and making sure that a lot of hair brained ideas are pushed to show that he really doesn't like UGA. If these are untrue, then it is time proof is shown otherwise.

His response to this will tell you a lot.

Now about DN and these kind of articles….stop it. Money and hate by dad sealed this deal. God has nothing to do with a decision to play football somewhere. The Holy Spirit guides our faith, brings us closer to salvation, and shows God's love and mercy to us. The Holy Spirit does not care about Bucknuts/Suckeye football. Nor does the HS care about Georgia football.

This was about money. So his comments and publicizing them and making them seem credible by writing his drivel is an offense to the Holy Spirit. Everyone needs the HS. Downs just wanted the Benjamins. The HS is not a football fan!

Geez tired of this….DN stoked this discussion and I am somewhat ashamed to be involved in this stirring the pot journalism
