On a positive note, Braves manufactured a run in the ninth inning for 2 in a row over Cardinals. Most runs still came on home runs but they used a bunt in ninth inning to move up a runner that later scored.
You never know
Go Braves way to pull it out. Go for the sweep Sunday. 😎
If the Braves win the next 10 straight they'll be back to 500.
And if my aunt had testicles she would be my uncle!
something funny happened with my above post. Mant
Just thought of this - the Braves are the best 42-52 team in MLB. Keep choppin' boys!!
As if by magic, I seem to be able to quote and post again. I was trying to say that the Braves finally won some games where the starting pitching wasn't the greatest. The offense and bullpen have carried the load for a change. We've even won some one-run games! Heck, in one game we both sacrifice bunted and hit-and-run - successfully. Who says Snit is asleep at the wheel?
In fact, to prove he is not asleep at the wheel, here is the real deal…

Well, the Bravos win streak is over. The old/new guy in the pen gave up 4 runs as well as the lead. Still, going into the 9th they mounted a threat but with a runner in scoring position, Olson, Acuna and Murphy couldn't bring in the tying run. I guess the Braves still have a pulse, but it is admittedly faint. They are now the best 42-53 team in MLB.
Nine hits sandwiched between 13 strikeouts resulted in just four runs. Braves lose 5-4. Rain delays of 4 hours and 2 minutes foiled any attempt to build momentum and mount a comeback.
BREAKING NEWS: In a huge departure from their SOP, the Braves went heavily into position players as opposed to their usual hoarding of pitching arms. Took 3 shortstops with their top 3 picks and then and OF and middle infielder with 2 of their next 3 picks. Clearly trying to meet some needs. With any luck, we'll finish lower this year than last and get earlier picks in the next draft.
This year's early draft was filled with SS draftees and other position players. May well point to lots of trading to fill pitching needs in the future.
Here's hoping there is a Chipper Jones or two in there somewhere.

More really good news - Braves didn't lose today.
I love it on all of the days that the Braves don’t lose!!!
Well, enjoy their second day in a row with no losing!!
