"revisionist history"…as opposed to a hypothetical (JT)??

Stetson actually did it - and he wasn't playing John Madden Football when he did. Nobody has forgot how good JT was, he just wasn't a Stetson Bennett.

you lost your own argument when you said this: "I’ll admit he wasn’t a threat with his legs but his processing and arm were better.

And how do you know his "processing was better"?

John Madden Football may suit you better - next thing you know you will have @Mike Griffith in there winning 2 straight with the same team/s.

how do I know? I watched the games bud. JT in 20-21 was elite at checking the protections at the line and putting the ball where it needed to be. He was great at throwing a player open. Stetson wasn’t always the best at that in ‘21. He got better in ‘22 with a full offseason with first team reps. If you watch the games you can see JT had a little more zip on his deep ball than Stetson did.

And I don’t think @MikeGriffith has a playable character in Madden football. Maybe the college version.

So - on any given play, you knew the defense that the opponent was in, knew the offensive play call, knew who the primary and secondary receivers were and could see JT processing all of this??

    That about right, “bud”??

  • KaseyKasey Posts: 31,586 mod

did you read the rest of what I wrote or did you just lock on something you disagree with and chose to focus on that?

I didn’t meant to act as though I knew every play but it’s obvious when a QB is setting the protections and changing things at the LOS. If you don’t recognize that, then it’s okay. You can just say you don’t.

I’m sorry you don’t enjoy discussion on a discussion board bud.

Yes I did…just getting a good laugh out you thinking you know what a QB is processing/thinking.

How is that possible without knowing what defensive alignment the defense is in, the defensive play call, offensive play call, the primary & secondary receivers and if the QB changes out of a play or not??

How do you know what he is processing/thinking - by him turning his head an yelling out something?

Not trying to embarrass you, but you make yourself an easy and deserving target by challenging way too many opinions on here.

You’re doing a good job embarrassing yourself already.

Also, why do you keep removing the down votes when people give them to you??..cause you have the power, they don’t and you can control the conversation??

Or are you just that insecure?

Lose your controlling and autocratic attitude/ways and maybe you will get a better acceptance - or don’t & continue your ways.

You certainly don’t impress anyone with the latter…but carry on if you must.

I’m not here for acceptance. I’m here to have discussions. You mention what I do or don’t know but you have no idea. You speak in generalities so I question how much you actually know beyond what writers and analysts tell you.

Also why do you care so much about down voting people? Are you that unable to form a discussion in your mind that the best you can do is click a button to show your disagreement? And why do you go back and check to make sure it’s still there? Why are you so obsessed with me?

I try to keep it about football but you seem unable to do so. Sad!

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Kinda hard to explain barometric pressure/have a conversation to someone who is challenged. Afraid a discussion with you would go right over your head. You’re either oblivious or incredibly stubborn…maybe both.

None of it is good, hard to believe they let someone loose on here like you.

With that “mod” badge, you seem to be living the life of Barney and with the one bullet in his pocket to use - continue on.

Oh, “what do I know beyond what writers and analysts tell me”…..Unlike most of writer’s & analysts, I actually played the game - and it was beyond HS.

    Obviously, you’ve done neither.

were you catching passes for Paul Crewe in jail? Is that what you mean? Or were you on the prison team cheating to win?

Jeff Sentell picked me so someone here thinks I do a pretty good job at this. I haven’t edited one word of what you (or anyone else) here says even if I disagree with the opinion. I like to run my mouth a little but most people seem to take it good fun. The denizens of the article commenters have less of a sense of humor and are more sensitive snowflakes.

    Carry on champ.

LOL!….throwing out the ole Sentell card again, huh - too funny. Guessing someone picked you because your free.

“It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

Thinking it’s better for you to just moderate and observe. Maybe some of the doubt would be removed.

But on the other hand, you are entertaining.

  • KaseyKasey Posts: 31,586 mod

if this site can’t pay copy editors do you think they’re gonna pay people to make sure bots and rival fans stay off? Cmon dude you’re smarter than that.

Again, the opinions of geriatric strangers like you matter very little to me. But you’ll keep coming back here because you think you’re smarter than me or something.

You’re just as entertaining to me because you keep going with the personal attacks instead of talking ball. A more sensitive Mod probably would’ve just bounced you by now. But I don’t let my feelings get hurt on that. You’re just another faceless commenter in the crowd that thinks you know more than other people. At least when @UGADad20 a d I disagree he sticks to what happens between the lines.

    Have a great day homie.

I'll say it flat out....UGA would not have won a Natty with JT Daniels. The Dawgs would've lost to Bama's defense...not once…but, twice.

With Daniels under center…UGA would've been extremely vulnerable, to any team that could develop a rush and pressure the QB. And, there was more than a few of those games.

I put Daniels in the same subset, as Beck & Stafford, wrt quarterback vision, mobility and pocket presence.

Consider this....Mathew Stafford was arguably the highest rated and highest drafted QB in UGA history [Charlie Trippi aside]. He had an outstanding starting cast, with AJ Green and Knowshon Moreno...etal.. Yet, they never won a championship...SEC or otherwise....during that time frame.

Bennett beat more than a few of those pressure defenses....while JT went on to prove what anybody with a pair of eyes and a working knowledge of the game, could've told you. He isn't the same quarterback, against pressure. Give him time, though....and he'll pick you apart.

And Bennett??? Hell…he upped his game, under pressure. That's when he was at his best…with one or two exceptions.

IMO....at the end of the day....Beck will reveal himself to be a lot like JT Daniels. Beck has a better arm...but, Daniels is more accurate....as long as there's a clean pocket.

Not saying 'Daniels wasn't better than the average CFB QB". But, I am saying....he wasn't the quarterback for UGA, during a relatively lean offensive period in the Dawgs history. I said it then....and I'm sayin' it now.

Lol.…however....when discussing the 2021 & 2022 Bulldogs.…you absolutely cannot leave out the contribution of the Defenses, Bowers & McKonkey, Cook & McIntosh, The O-Line and Special Teams. Even the bench got in on the act, where Daniels may have made his greatest contribution to the 2021 Natty, by keeping Bennett and Monkin on the same page.

Stafford had one year of freshman AJ Green. Rest of his WR corps was just ok.

I think you're right. I remember, the Dawgs being ranked #1 going into the 2008 season....the year afyer they won a share of the SEC East, along with Tennessee...i think. Lol. Was that the season AJ was suspended 4 games for selling his jersey?
