Atkinson's comments do not show the appreciation he should have about how UGA has pursued him since he was a kid. He has grown up in Georgia, not that far from UGA but far enough to have the wonderful college experience. You'd think that out of loyalty to his native state that he would naturally want to play Between the Hedges, particularly since they arguably have the best coaching staff in the country with a couple of exceptions. UGA's Defense is lights out the best year in and year out. They all get great NFL draft numbers. Then why the stand-offish behavior? If he wants to to to these other potential schools like Clemson, then it shows his aptitude might not be that high. Clemson isn't even in the SEC. It's in one of the worst conferences in the nation. Steel sharpens steel. Texas might have money, but Austin as a college town is hot and big and hot. Miami shouldn't even be a consideration. They couldn't win a champion if they payed $100 million in NIL every years. Hoping that Atkinson gets his head straight today and commits to the G.

I support Kirby Smart not being willing to throw millions at a HS senior that has never played a college game in his life yet. If they actually perform and develop, then the money will roll in. Nobody beats the UGA defense in getting great NFL contracts. Nobody.

    Absolutely..

Talent doesn’t mean much if don’t have the heart. Gotta be where you heart/feet are. Kirby does a great job identifying all of it.

Going out on a limb here lol and predicting he will shock everyone, spurning both UGA, and Texas for that cow pasture college in South Carolina. Highly unlikely he chooses clemson, but these days anything is possible. Hopefully I'm wrong, and he decides to stay home and play for the DAWGS.
