Without knowing the evidence against Mr Jackson it's hard to make any comment other than….a question I would pose to Mr Jackson…..what do you want to be…..gang-sta **** or elite athlete with professional potential…..gang-sta thugs are shown the door, elite athletes are given more structure, direction, support in making legal amends and forgiveness in order to clarify their life focus in reality……Where is this youngmans focus if he is willing to throw away GOD given physicality, talent, placement in the best professional football program in America for pot????? Mr Jackson is in desperate need of a new life focus…..hope he gets it from recommitting to becoming a DGD.

I guess it’s that time of year where we get our quota of drunk driver racing their NIL hot rod cars, huffing hemp and lady beaters grabbing the headlines. Opening day can’t get here fast enough…

Zzzzzz. More than an ounce is still a felony? Must be the weakest felony charge on the books. Bail was only 5K says it all. So maybe he had just got a new ounce but still had some left in his other bag? Probably so. No big whoop here other than his stupidity imo. He better wise up fast or he will not be here long. Laws are laws, no matter how times have changed with weed not being nearly the big deal that it always has been. Be smart. I am sure he will never have more than an oz on him again.

I mean come on, you are in Athens and the cops there run a very tight ship. Makes you wonder how that affects recruiting? I mean, in some, or even most, college towns that is the last thing the local police want to do, you know? Not in Athens. Overall, that is a very good thing though, imo. Cannot have football players knowing they can get away with crimes. Things will get out of control. Weed is all over campus in the dorms. Best to keep it there, not out and about.

Good grief. These kids, yes they are still kids, are getting everything handed to them on a silver platter more than ever before and they STILL continue to do crap like this. Are the free clothes, shoes, rooms, food, medical care, scholarships, and money, money, money not enough?

The law is the law but these are very minor offenses. I don't see Kirby kicking him off the team or suspending him for this stuff. Maybe an extra (10) suicide drills!

Hm. I missed the part where some gang affiliation was established. And since the only charges outlined here are weed related, I'm unclear on what exactly makes him any more of a "thụg" than the average tiedye clad Phish fan. Care to elaborate?

A Felony is a minor offense? If that were true, there wouldn't be a single person in prison..

@1SICemDAWGS1…it is completely ludicrous that pot possession is a felony. Again, the law is the law, but it definitely shouldn't even be a crime.

I agree, but like you said..the law is the law. And if you get caught breaking it, you suffer the consequences for your mistake(s). And Athens is not the town to chance it. 5 different law enforcement agencies in the smallest county in Georgia..ACC Police, ACC Sheriff Dept, UGA police, State Patrol post, and a GBI office. So theres a great chance you wont drive far in Clarke County without seeing law enforcement of some type. I'm far from perfect, so I'm not judging anyone, I made my share of dumb mistakes also when I was younger. I learned from each mistake, and never repeated them, just made different dumb decisions beside those i learned from lol hopefully these young men will learn also, and go on to lead productive lives. There are a multitude of resources available to help if they need it, and will realize they may need that help to overcome their problem(s) and actually use the resources.

Because, your opinion of me, and my comments is completely irrelevant and means absoluely nothing. And it wont change how i voice my opinion. You dont like it, not my problem to deal with.
