PS: Not sure why the comments editing is on the fritz, but my only point on the grading is the TEs don't deserve an "F"... they did nothing wrong I could see. More fair to be an "Incomplete" grade, IMHO

Very generous grading Connor. As a law professor for 39 years, a C is a decent grade given for a decent performance. Our performance yesterday, especially offensively, was less than decent. It was bad, very bad. The D looked good, but who knows exactly what that means when the opponent is a FCS school. And, as far as I know, not necessarily a top tier FCS school.

I will be surprised if we are competitive against either TN or AL. Of course, I’m hoping to be surprised.

The five consecutive unsuccessful runs from the one just before the half was Coach sending a message & challenging his O-Line. Creative play calling was the last thing on Kirby’s mind against an FCS school & with the upcoming gauntlet that starts next Sat in Knoxville. I imagine the offensive meetings & practices the next few days will be just a tad physical.

The OL is a mystery considering the size in the room. They just aren't very good individually or as a unit. Saw one play where AP brought 6 rushers. Announcers commented on the replay "AP brings 6 vs 5 UGA OL". Watched Monroe Freeling block no one. He looked inside as DE ran right around him and OG blocked the man in front of him.

GS has a real problem 1) throwing over the OL in general and especially to the middle of the field and 2) knowing where his receivers are and knowing his primary and secondary receivers. I'm not sure he is even looking downfield. He seems fixated on the pass rush. Not sure anyone could have a lot of success with how poorly the OL is playing.

Frazier has a fumbling problem. Humphrey has a timid problem. Not a good trait in a WR. Had high hopes to play down hill, bully ball w/big backs RRob and McCray. They have been non-existent in the 1st 2 games.

OC CMB is in the booth. Substitutions are made on the sideline, by CKS, based on divvying up playing time to keep everybody happy/involved. I don't think Bobo even knows who is in the game when he makes a play call. Sure enough, saw it again saturday, "hand off, Cash Jones, up the middle". SMH.

AP ran a nice screen (to the RB!) or 2 on saturday. Saw somebody else run a nice center TE screen. Can't remember the last time I saw UGA run a traditional screen play.

Agree with the grades and with most of the comments about the team here. I'd just like to say that of all the disappointing or underwhelming things so far this season, the most surprising to me is the seeming regression of Dillon Bell. Two years ago that guy was our Swiss Army knife player, who was a threat from a variety of places on the offense. I don't know if it's injuries or something else, but he seems to have lost both speed and quickness. He doesn't move well laterally at all. And now he's missing blocks, too. Don't know how a guy goes from being such an important cog in the offense to being a non-factor with two more years of experience. But somehow, Bell has done that.

You are correct. Thought of this while writing my comment below then forgot to include it. What happened to Bell? How do you work all off season on speed, strength and hands and get worse? One of my favorite Dawgs. Had high hopes for him this year. Still early but he is definitely in a funk.

Not just Bell. Still seeing multiple drops per game. CYoung looks slow. Humphrey looks timid. NThomas looks like he won't figure out the UGA O until he is in the NFL.

Then there's Bobo. I was behind him when he was here w/Richt. Then thought he would do well continuing after graduating from Monken's internship. If we see the same 5 plays for most of the TN game we will know Bobo has reached his peak.

Searls O Line Bad. No O Line success = No Offense success. Dawgs with six inches to get on goal line against inferior opponent and can’t get it = Terrible O Line. If KS doesn’t mind Searls ruining his legacy not much a common fan like me can say. You don’t have to be an expert in football to see this O Line is atrocious.

Gunner Has made mistakes. Not gonna white wash over that. But KS telling him Trust Your O Line. Trust Em for what ? Trust Em to let my head get torn off by some monster DT or DE ?? SAME thing vs ND last year.

Blaming the majority of the problems on Gunner is inaccurate, unjust, and a cop out. Even in the pros the QB relies on decent protection from his O Line. Yes Gunner Has made some mistakes, but he hasn’t turned the ball over . The O Line doesn’t block well for the RBs either.

No to me the majority of problems rest with Two men. The main one Coach Searls the other Coach Kirby Smart for not either firing Searls or demoting him. Injuries are no excuse as His job was to develop depth on the O Line in the event of injuries like a Good O Line Coach would do.

If the Dawgs had a truly Dominate O Line they could over come Bobo’s less than stellar play calling and Gunner’s mistakes if not by just running the ball on Every play !!!! IF they were a truly Dominate O Line. But they are Far from that and I don’t think it’s the players I think it’s poor coaching.

Offensive line coach needs to be fired, Donnell Jones needs to be replaced by Kelly. You can't play Jones against Tennessee or Joel #8. They are not good cover guys. #5, #7,#1 ,#24 has tobe the cornerbacks on Saturday plus #2 or #14 in the slot defensive back and replaced of #8.

Looking at the overall performance average best describes what we saw saturday, we won't get better without better QB play. There is nothing special about Stockton play. It is hard to tell if he is going to be a good college QB. I don't see him going through his progressions and at some point he is going to need to be a real QB and not just someone who hands the ball off when required. To be honest, I don't expect to win this week on the road there are just too many unknowns with this group.
