Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Time to cut the cord, cord and leave Youtube TV
I signed up for a one-week free trial with Fubo just to watch the Mississippi State game, and I’m canceling it, today. Meanwhile, YouTube TV has increased its price by about $35 over the past year. They’ve essentially become the very problem I was trying to avoid when I left Comcast.
After all this, I’m ready to explore alternatives. I need a more reliable and affordable streaming service.
Do you have any recommendations I should check out?

Yep - the greedy basids are catching up with cable. Knew it would eventually happen, that's why I stuck with the devil I know.
If it keeps increasing. just gonna go back to radio or find my seat at the game…are there any more Munson's out there - guessing NO, afraid he broke the mold. John Ward came close, but he wasn't a dawg.
I do Hulu because it’s owned by Disney. Less of a chance of a dispute when they own the product.
It’s as expensive as YTTV, but it works well and you still get a bunch of local and cable channels.
Yes, the ad-supported Disney+ (Basic) is included for free with eligible Spectrum TV plans
, such as TV Select, TV Select Signature, and TV Select Plus. You must activate the service through your Spectrum account to get it at no additional cost. Upgrading to the ad-free Premium plan is possible for an extra fee.
This is my 6th year with Hulu. Seen the price go from $45 to now $100+ a month. As usual I'll be cutting it off at the end of Jan. If 20 or even 10 years ago I was told I'd be paying over $500 for a season of CFB I would have probably questioned my sanity.
I switched from YTTV to Fubo after the free week. About the same price but includes ESPN Unlimited
I decided to look for an old indoor antenna I had stashed away and amazingly found in. On main tv only picks up abc and several uhf stations, all crystal clear. On secondary TV near a windows picks up nbc, cbs, abc and fox go figure. Looks like I get Bama at 3 30 and Dawgs at 7 30. This will get me by for another week.
Did not think I would be successful as there are many hills between my house and Augusta Ga stations.
If it wasn't for my indoor antenna + 19-inch sheet of tinfoil I would not have tv at all. The condo I live in here is at&t only and they want $100 per month. Even if I bundle with their internet plus my home business phone the cost is $300 a month, all I would save is $25 a month blah, blah. So, I have enough channels to watch football especially our Dawgs and friends to go to when I can't get them. 😎
Honestly, I’m not sure there is another option for me—at least one that doesn’t set my wallet on fire.
Everything that offers the same features is huddled together in the $90–$100 range like they all compared notes.
YouTube TV is already $88 with tax for me, and I’m pretty sure that price is just waiting for Disney/ESPN to renegotiate so it can leap even higher.
There’s definitely room for some entrepreneur to swoop in with a better price performance deal.
TikTok TV, anyone?
Sports has driven up the price for all of these streaming service. They know it's the one thing that is LIVE that cant be watched later.
There is one streaming service called Philo (if it still exists) and I think it's around 25 30 bucks a month. How do they do it? No sports at all.
this is going to be the issue with any streaming service you use. Those channels cost the most to have on your platform and drive up the price.
Throw in huge corporations looking for “stockholder value” which is a fancy term for all of the company’s rich benefactors, you’re going to see costs continue to rise.
Received my $20 off on next month youtubetv yesterday. So $60+$20 off youtubetv- $5 for last weeks sling purchase, I am now up $75.
Next stop Vegas,lol
I have Hulu Live. I hate paying for it, but it works pretty well.
The options are very limited, that's for sure.
Go, Dawgs!
I think I'm gonna switch from YoutubeTV to FUBO Sports + News after researching. $55/mo for a package including: ESPN unlimited (which I will use to watch Dawgs football/basketball/baseball and anything ESPN or ABC), CBS (Masters, NFL), and Fox (Big 18, some NFL etc). FUBO is owned by Disney 70% also.
The only thing it lacks is NBC because they have their own streaming service, but I don't really care too much about NBC right now, might have to find a way to watch the US Open on Father's Day next year.
Golly, these TV battles are such fun.
I just went through this analysis. Looked at YouTube TV combined with T-Mobile for internet, AT&T for fiber connectivity and internet… you name it. When Disney hosed YouTube TV we nixed that and decided to go to our Comcast Rep with a basket of cheese, crackers, wine and a large mallet. After that meeting we got $85 off our monthly bill with an opportunity to 86 $20 more a month by returning the boxes and just stream content.
