This is a real fantasy football crowd. Every time a position group plays well THAT becomes the new floor for the unit. Though i get it. "Fans" aren't usually objective.
A couple of charmed wins over SEC rivals. A fug lee (since dawgnation won't let me say ugg lee) win over an overrated GA Tec team. And a win over an AL team w/no running game and an slumping (overrated?) QB. There are some pretty good teams left in the field. Hopefully UGA takes down MS and we get to see how UGA stacks up vs OSU.
The OL will have to play otherworldly from here on out. As will GS. Not sure the DB's can consistently play well enough to enable the defense to carry this team against other top teams. MS OC is scheming as we speak to isolate the UGA S's in coverage. The good news is, no matter what happens, no UGA fan will ever have to hear "1980" again.
the Miss OC is also moving his family from Oxford to Baton Rouge as we speak so he’s probably a little distracted. Their defense hasn’t gotten much better but will say they are very dangerous on offense and our defense will need to come to play.
I don’t remember the game - maybe SEC Championship v Alabama - help me folks - where both Bowers and Ladd were not 100%. Maybe they were better at 65% than a backups 100 - IDK. But I remember watching the game, watching them fight - especially Ladd - just to get lined up was a strugfle and I was thinking man… we really should put someone else in for him. When we ultimately lost that game I couldn’t sleep. Daggum - healthy and we would have won that game easily. But something else was eating me up - I couldn’t help but think if a healthier wide receiver would have played in say Ladd’s place - could we have won? That’s why CKS makes the big $. He gets to make those calls and he has certainly earned it. Staying healthy or having depth to overcome injuries is key to any teams success. It’s why CKS preaches everyone gets reps, everyone gets developed, everyone - if they choose to - gets better. So it can be next man up. Unless Bobo is 100 I hope CKS starts MT and Bobo is at best the backup. MT showed he could handle a good AL D Line. We don’t need a quarter (or worse 2) for a decision to be made to pull a less than 100% Bobo to have to get MT up to game speed in the middle of a game. Again CKS has earned right to make these calls and I’ll respect what he does, but just like Dink and Aguero - Dink proved he can handle himself. If Aguero isn’t 100 - Dink should start too. Agree?
I'm actually much more concerned about Gabe Harris's availability.
You don't think the MS OC can manage a move AND spend some time looking at film and game prep? Charlie Wise Jr has been a football coach since he was knee high to a grasshopper.
"Weis worked on his father's coaching staff at Notre Dame as a child, holding up cards that described the opposing team's offensive personnel on the field. He began coaching at the age of 18."
You haven't been following the MS injury news about their defense. Princewill Umanmielen is expected back for this game. He is their their leader in sacks and TFL. He missed the 1st UGA game. I'd say that makes their D improved.
has Charlie Weis ever worked two jobs at the same time during the holiday season? Maybe he has. I have no doubt he’s a good coach, but to pretend he isn’t a little distracted is crazy. Will it mean much when we play? Maybe…maybe not. But it’s a possibility.
I wasn’t impressed with their defense against Tulane. If we don’t turn the ball over they will have a tough time stopping us. We scored on every possession last time. The way we play anaconda offense their defense may not hold up for the whole game (again).
