Getting a little concerned as it seems like missing on our share of top level recruits, especially in state, is becoming the norm rather than a few exceptions.

At some point missing on so many top level recruits may come back to haunt us. The Jordan Davis 3* references are great & accurate, but gotta have some 5* types in there too (Nakobe, Nolan Smith, etc.). Jordan was awesome on his own but it had to help having so much talent out there with him.

Good question Truthteller, I have often wondered the same.

But my guess is, is that he is a college guy and will not go to the pros if given the chance. Also guessing Georgia is the only school he wants to be at. Pretty sure that Georgia has the resources to keep him there also. Who knows how long he wants to work, Saban walked away when he wanted to - and it had more to do with where he was in life (age) and not the frustration of NIL…. besides, I believe Saban made most of his money on his car dealerships.

As far as the NIL goes, the last I looked, Georgia is in the top 5 in collectives. That is enough to "keep on keeping on" imo. Thinks when all is said and done, he is on equal footing with the top 5 teams, that is enough to compete…and I really don't like chasing the kids who want to go to the highest bidder anyway, hard to build a team doing that.

Guessing he is focusing on the proven players first and appropriating the money that way - and doing the same with the position of play, recruits included, much like the pros do.

In short, thinks he has adjusted to most all of it and is doing better than most all out there. He will be here until he decides to retire.

I like the way Kirby does it, meaning paying important people on the squad to stay than paying for potential. The problem lies with whoever is controlling CFB. Incoming freshmen need to be on a rookie scale, there has to be some kind of structure to this thing. It is already getting distasteful and I would say the same thing if UGA got all 5 stars. Money is part of the game so at least provide some structure for it. Money is supplanting hardwork and talent.
