    So, we should give the lesser ranked teams the bye week! Problems solved!

    Oregon will continue the bye week jinx by 10 over TT. The bye week jinx finally ends with Indy barely escaping Bama by a FG followed by the pups finally dismantling Ole Miss late in the 3rd quarter and winning by 14…

    Now if I were a betting man, I probably wouldn't take much stock in these projections, but one can hope, yes?

    Indiana beats the pants off of Ohio St. in the physicality dept. Ohio St barely beats a good but not great Texas team, and then again gets out played on the line of scrimmage by Miami who barely beats an over-rated Texas A&M team. No way to gauge any of this IMHO.

    The most over-rated team in the country all year has to have been Ohio St.

    Ohio St couldn't harass Beck enough to give him happy-feet, which we all know you have to do.

    Hopefelly we take care of business tonight and then we get MIami. Defense wins championships! Go Dawgs!

    For some reason, I have a gut feeling Bama beats Indiana. TT, and IU had 2 of the top 5 easiest schedules this season. I think not playing quality teams finally catches up with both today.

    Mississippi won't be going up and down the field like the first game. The Dawgs probably won't score 43 points this time around either, but it won't be needed. Kirby will hold some stuff back if he can, and I believe he will be able to do that. Miami has a much better D than the Rebels.

    @reddawg1 Curious that you call A&M overrated. Exactly where should an 11-1 P4 conference team whose only loss was to a more talented 10-3 in-state and conference rival have been rated? Even an ACC or Big 12 team with A&M's record would have been rated the same. Texas Tech was rated even higher and this is a team who lost to Arizona State and whose only accomplishment was beating BYU, who nearly lost to a Georgia Tech team that has lost nearly its entire offensive staff to Florida, twice. If losing only to 10-3 Texas and 12-2 Miami makes A&M overrated, then who are the actually good teams this year? If your reply includes any of Oregon, Indiana or Ole Miss then my rejoinder would be "based on what exactly"? Example: JMU and a pair of 4 loss Iowa and USC teams are the best wins that Oregon, who lost by double digits to Indiana at home, has. Beating the aforementioned Texas Tech won't necessarily change that.

    A&M gave Miami a much tougher game than Ohio State did. It took great play by Miami's defense, a career day from their tailback and a classic no turnover game management performance from a 6th year senior QB to just barely win. A&M was actually in scorinh position to tie the game late. Meanwhile Miami dominated Ohio State from beginning to end even with the referees doing everything possible to give Ohio State the game. If anything that makes you believe that A&M was better than Ohio State and should have been seeded even higher. An 11-1 SEC team who only missed the SEC title game because of a tiebreaker should have earned an easier first round draw.

    “NFL teams who had the bye in past years and didn’t play in the wild card…"

    This immediately made me think of the 2010 Atlanta Falcons playing Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round…the Falcons were smoked at home by a team that had been playing with their hair on fire leading up to that game.

    I think they’re to one dimensional this year but I certainly wouldn’t bet against bama. In fact I took bama and the points. Took U and the points last night as their defense is good enough to cover, but sure didn’t expect them to win. That’s a dangerous team

    @randomsportsfan

    aTm was the most overrated team in the CFPs besides Jimmy Madison. They were 7-1 against the bottom dwellers of the SEC losing convincingly to the ONLY team they faced (Texas) with a winning record…Miami couldn’t even qualify for the All Cupcake Conference finals….just sit down, pick up your red n black pompoms and enjoy the games today…

    Before the whole "first round bye agenda" causes too much panic, let's remember that very few had ASU and/or BSU winning, the Dawgs had huge distractions and a new QB, and while it was surprising that Oregon played so poorly, was anyone really going to beat OSU last season? With all that said, the OSU vs Miami game is arguably the one true case of the first round bye being a detriment. I don't think this sample size is enough to prove the first round bye is a trap, but it's good to know the Dawgs are doing their best to maintain some edge and ensure it doesn't factor into tonight's outcome!

    @Gramster

    1. Texas A&M beat Notre Dame in South Bend.
    2. Miami missed the ACC title game because they have 1 good WR and 1 good RB and one or both were both hurt in the 2 games that they lost. In the games where both Malachi Toney and Mark Fletcher were healthy they are 12-0. This includes victories over Notre Dame, A&M and now Ohio State.
    3. Even among SEC teams, LSU and Missouri had winning records and A&M played them in back to back games on the road.
    4. Fascinating that everyone has all this respect for Ole Miss while trashing A&M. The only good team that Ole Miss beat this year was Oklahoma. Their other wins: Georgia State, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tulane, LSU, Washington State, South Carolina, Citadel, Florida, Mississippi State. Oklahoma versus Notre Dame would be a good game. Nothing that I saw from Oklahoma this year makes me believe that they would have beaten ND in South Bend.

    The only reason why you think that Ole Miss is better than A&M: Ole Miss played UGA and A&M didn't. The same reason why UGA fans insist that Brent Key is actually running a good program at Georgia Tech: you pay a lot more attention to Tech's close losses to UGA than to their bad losses against Pitt, NC State, 7-6 Vanderbilt, 6-7 Virginia Tech and Louisville. Stand up and pay attention to more teams than UGA.

    Very well said sir, and agree to all points 💯👍

    Would have to add two things:

    Coach Kirby is undefeated in same season rematch games and UGA is the only quarterfinal bye team that had a bye last year so Coach has some experience in navigating the layoff that other “bye” teams did not have!

    Got to trust Coach Kirby and his staff in having our Dawgs ready tonight!

    Go Dawgs! Hate on Ole Miss! GATA!
