Now comes the silly season with the portal opening and players deciding if they are going to the NFL or not. I would go find about 10 to 15 million on top of what they have and get Young, Branch and CJ Allen to come back. Stockton needs to take a step because I know he is not going pro at this time. Defense as a whole needs to be back because that cannot be the lasting image they put out on the field.

Kirby and his old school ways in refusing to pay for elite playmakers is pushing us back to the 8-4 Pop Tart Bowl days. Mark my word……

OK I fully understand the pain Dawgs fans are feeling. There’s No One here that loves them anymore than me, just as much, yes but not more. Yes it was a painful loss. Hurts. Hurts really bad.

But I think it’d be wise to Remember how far our Dawgs Did come. I distinctly remember in preseason Numerous comments Right Here on DN saying best case scenario for this team would be 10-2, No playoff, nice bowl game. Some said 9-3. There was even some that said 8-4 !!

Our Dawgs won the SECCG !! If you think they will win a Ntl. Title every year or even every other year by all means please send me some of what ever your drinking !! And I don’t even drink !!

Love the let’s throw Gunner under the bus from many Fickle Fans. The Truth is Dawgs wouldn’t have went 11-1 regular season and won the SECCG if not for that young man’s contributions !! One of the hardest things for Some ( not all, maybe not even most) Dawgs fans to admit is that we got out played and out coached by a better team !! Does that mean the Dawgs were a bad team ? Heck No !!

I’m SO VERY Thankful for the B2B Nattys. But in some ways they Spoiled Dawgs fans rotten !! Now it’s a Natty or we s u c k !!

And that is SO wrong !! Numerous SEC teams would’ve Loved to win the SEC crown !! Numerous teams CFB wide would have Loved to even make the playoffs !!

Another Truth is that Usually 34 points would be Enough for our Dawgs to win 95% of the games they play. But credit to Ole Miss our Dawgs fell short. I stand by that if there’s fault it goes to Kirby Smart. I Love Kirby. I Do. But the buck stops at His desk. HE failed last night Not Gunner and the rest of our players. He Knew all that Bye time was dangerous and he failed to adequately prepare for it. BUT there’s not another HC in All CFB I’d want over Kirby.

Mike Bobo Loves UGA. I think he gives what he believes is his very best. Maybe reduce him to QBs coach, and find a former NFL OC in the off season. Yeah Gunner could’ve probably done better looking back. But any of you that are perfect Please stand up !! That young man has sacrificed his body for this team time and time again !! Regular season we had One loss by 3 points . Guess who lost that one ? Kirby Smart did. We won the SECCG and Gunner was a hero As Was our Defense. But now Fickle Fans want to throw Both under the bus. How about grading the fan base ?? Where’s the Love when we Lose ?? Hmm ?? Or is the kind of Love only given when we Win ?

If you think we’re supposed to win a Natty every year, or every other year or Heck even every third year your living in a fantasy world !! STOP and look back at what all Kirby has done !! STOP and look at what the Dawgs DID DO with Gunner under center !! I LOVE my fellow Dawgs fans. Yall are like my cyber family !! This might have been my last go around as I now have Two different types of cancer Along with numerous other serious medical issues. I don’t have any family and friends locally. I don’t get out except to go to doctors. So I’m NOT asking for compassion for ME. I Am asking for compassion for our players, in particular Gunner Stockton. There’s not a soul on here that wanted it More than him.

Now Yall want to jump on me Ho ahead if it makes you feel better. It ain’t gonna hurt me anymore than I already am. But how about just a smidgen of Gratefulness for what Gunner and these Dawgs DID accomplish. Think you can muster that ? My comments are Not to All Dawgs fans. It’s a If The Shoe Fits Wear It comments. Lord willing ALL Praise To Him, I’ll be here next season. But I’m not guaranteed that. And News Flash neither are You even if your enjoying perfect health right now. SO STOP take a Long time smelling the fragrance of the Good flowers. But throw the Foul smelling ones away Quickly !! Looking forward to G Day !! Love our Dawgs !! Love my fellow Dawgs fans !! Go Dawgs !!

This year’s final 4 Transfer Portal addition count over the last 3 recruiting cycles:

    UM 51

    Ore 41

    Ole Ms 79

    Indy 77

Georgia 25…is Kirby treading down the Dabo path? Food for thought…

At least the Dawgs didn’t give up. That silly crap of running the punt team off on the 4th down cost them a score. We need a new OC plain and simple. 3 tries from the 3 yd line was the difference in the game. We score and they have to score a TD but then again they threw a 40 yd pass for the FG when the defense knew what was coming. Yes I’m disappointed, thought we could run the table this year. Coaches lost that game big time

it was the return of the Georgia from the first half of the season.

No drive to tackle the qb. We let a one armed rb run all over us and couldn’t tackle or get pressure on a qb.

Our offensive line was so far outta whack and rhythm that made me sick. Also the officiating for both teams was sus at best.

The whole game from coaching to line play was embarrassing .

simply get better dawgs and coaches.

all in all I would rather take the loss last night rather than losing to those bammers.

I feel the season ending was disappointing but as a whole surpassed my expectations from the beginning of the year. We did beat Tennessee Florida ole miss and bama all in one season.

    go dawgs

I don’t know if I would drive down that deep. Watching our game plan on both sides of the ball reminded me of a 5 and half hour round of golf where you stand around and watch for 10 minutes before every single shot in the round, and then slice it right or chunk it left, before waiting 10 more minutes for the next shot. My analogy of course is this…I don’t think it was so much about not being prepared as it was having way too much time (3 plus weeks of idle time) to overthink everything. The in-game decisions part, yes, they were very puzzling. Not the First time I’ve seen Kirby making questionable choices, it certainly caught up with him last night. Ole Miss just wanted it more, kudos to them.

“They made more plays than we did; and I’ve got to be honest, that’s part of football,” Smart said. “They made more, and out-executed us, outcoached us, outplayed us…." EXCUSES! Smart needs to rethink his role as head coach…Bobo must go and Schumann as well. Stockton is mediocre? Chambliss is elite. Outcoached again… by a rookie coach. Fortunate for Georgia Kiffin was not at the helm!!! Kirby needs to hit the portal HARD!

I have no control over Kirby what so ever on my own. But Dawgs fans en mass do. If he feels enough pressure he will probably act.

Mike Bobo is a DGD. You read that right. He played at UGA. His heart has always been with UGA even when he ventured off to other places. I honestly believe Mike Bobo is doing His very best. I also believe he would never deliberately hurt UGA. AND there are times he can be a brilliant play caller. BUT he’s far too inconsistent. His brilliant play calling comes in bits and pieces. In other words he’s not Consistent at all.

Kirby has a deep love for Mike Bobo. They are the best of friends. If you have or ever have had a friendship where the person is like a very close family member to you. Then you Know it’s extremely difficult to hurt a friend like that.

If Kirby fired Mike it might well end their life long friendship permanently. It shouldn’t. But it could. My suggestion to Kirby would be make Bobo the QBs coach primarily And assistant OC. Bobo would be the OC if the primary guy has some sort of emergency where he has to miss a game or even two. Bobo could Offer advice to the new OC but it’d be up to the new guy to take or leave that advice. Leave Bobo at his same salary as he’d be wearing two hats.

Now the Important and hopefully good part. I haven’t kept a sharp eye on it as I don’t watch the NFL except for an occasional sneak peak at the Eagles as there’s so many former Dawgs on that team. But just from watching the daily news I know there has been Allot of turn over in the NFL coaching ranks.

There’s Allot of assistant coaches in need of a job. And several NFL head coaches. Kirby needs to At Least look around at who might be available to be the Dawgs OC.

If Bobo takes it badly then that’s a lack of maturity on his part. He should be thankful Kirby kept him. I Do think Bobo would make a great QB coach. Make the current QB coach an assistant at same pay he’s been getting.

Now I know and Yall know that Kirby already has a strong hand on the defense. Well he needs to ramp that up even more. He needs to coach Schumann Privately. Never in front of the players !!

As I’ve already said numerous times I Know Yall are bitterly disappointed. So am I. But this Dawgs program is a far cry from broken. Kirby needs to dip his net into the TP and get the best players he can.

I Know it looked bad last night. But the Dawgs defense has Allot of guys returning who gained Allot of valuable experience this year. Including last night’s loss. They are Very coachable. The foundation is very solid. The Offense is solid to for next year but right now it seems looking forward not as much as the defense. Special teams next year will be in my opinion a concern as I believe Both Thorson and Woodring are gone if my memory serves.

Just think back to preseason of This team. So many question marks. I distinctly remember quite a few Dawgs fans saying best case scenario 10-2, No playoff but nice bowl game. Some had us at 8-4 !! I thought we’d lose to either Bama or TX and go 11-1. I was right on that. Winning the SEC is no small task at all. Our Dawgs done it and did at least make the playoffs.

Lastly I wouldn’t be shocked even a little bit if Ole Miss won the Ntl. Title. They are a very, very good team. I could be very wrong but I don’t think Miami will be able to handle them IF Ole Miss plays them like they did us. In fact I predict Ole Miss will beat Miami by a high score. Indians looks very real. A very good team. I think Oregon might cut the score closer but will lose again. So an IN vs Ole Miss will be a very interesting game. Keep your chins up Dawgs fans and be proud of our team !! The Dawgs program is a far cry from being broken !! Now Bama that’s another story !! Their house is definitely on fire and the water hose is busted !! Go Dawgs !!

Thank you SO much my Brother !! Please forgive me for throwing a pity party for myself !! There are so many people out there Far worse off than I am. Actually I’ve been doing pretty fair. Just stay so very, very tired and weak. I’m not much help to my wife whose health is not much better in chores about the house and it makes me feel so guilty. But I’m SO thankful I’ve got God, my precious wife, my family, and great friends like You !! Our Dawgs ain’t done by a long shot. They’ll be back with a vengeance !! Thx again !! Go Dawgs !!

Didn't take it at all that way - you are just putting things into perspective. We all should take heed to it…Thanks!

The reason Kirby went conservative at the end of the first half was becasue of what happedned with NOtre Dame last year. HE wanted to make sure we didn't screw up and give up a turnover and lose what we had built up the first 28 minutes. He coached not to lose. Then we we came out at the beginning of the second half, it was just a big nothing burger and we lost the momentum.

Lotsa long comments here that I haven't read yet. In the end this team achieved its level. #6 at the end of the day. Fans kept resetting the floor on this team every time they played well ignoring its limitations and youth.

There were a lot of setbacks vs MS (2). But the most egregious had to be Bobo running a delay handoff up the middle on 2nd and goal from the 3 late in the game. 3 yard loss there killed the chance to win (score 7) on that drive. Bobo's play calling again, especially in the 2nd half, killed this team. Either GS cannot throw the ball down field (tried a few last night. none seemed close) or CKS and CMB won't let GS throw the ball down the field. UGA offense seems much more limited than the other playoff teams. How many passes did GS have batted down? 8? The book seems to be watch GS's eyes move to the passing lane and put up arms.

Again no pass rush and questionable OL play. W/no pass rush Chambliss was 12 for 12 passing for most of the 2nd half. Yes he got hot but UGA had no answer. And no pressure.

@Kasey " I saw Ole Miss D vs Tulane. I'm not worried". MS D dominated UGA in the 2nd half.

Personally I like that CKS builds his team from HS players with the right attitude. The problem seems to be that UGA counts on far too many, as yet undeveloped, young players in the biggest games where they seemed overmatched. In the new world of plug and play more proven, more mature transfers this may be the new ceiling for UGA. CB's 6,15 and 1 failed miserably last night. S#4 has not progressed like we expected a 5* player to progress. LB's 19, 9 and 3 had minimal impact last night. LB 5 progressed this year but had little impact last night. DL zero sacks.

Going for 4th down and 9(?) from your own 20 w/10 mins to go was not a good choice. One of CKS's worst coached games. 3 weeks to prepare and that amount of success. Shows you that this team was very limited.

This team had a lot of heart. That showed in their comeback. Their talent is young and undeveloped. When you bring in 30 freshmen a year and lose 15 2nd/3rd/4th yr players (missed recruits you just wasted years of development on) to the TP we can probably expect to see this again next year.

Really wanted to see the MIA vs UGA matchup. Saw MIA early in the year. Their D was impressive. Fast to the ball, gang tackled w/authority and NFL DE's.

yeah I was wrong. Although I don’t think their defense was greatly improved but more we had terrible play calling an execution on offense. If we come out of half time with a six minute touch down drive and go up 28-12 they probably quit and we win going away. Our offense couldn’t keep their defense on the field and wear them down like they did the first game. We didn’t play complimentary football last night. Gunner played like hot garbage. He either has some serious injury they aren’t telling us (wouldn’t be surprised if he played that game concussed) or he just isn’t good enough.

If the offense was better it would’ve helped the defense. Chambliss also played like the second coming of Johnny Manziel last night. Tip of the cap to him.
