MontanaDawg, have you not noticed that there's more parity in the sport now than there's ever been, all over the country? It's not an SEC thing. It's NIL/portal making every single player an unrestricted free agent for his entire college career. To your own point, look at INDIANA.

But to say that Ole Miss is "the best the SEC can offer now" is short-sighted. Georgia was clearly the better team going into that game. They played poorly and lost on a last-second field goal. It was one game. It happens - especially in a playoff format that has the top teams go a month without playing, then having to face a top 10 opponent that just won a week ago having come off a bye themselves.

Lots of room for improvement for a team that's already one of the best in the country as it is. That's going to be the new normal. Better get used to it.

At this point, Smart's biggest area of concern is figuring out how to manage that ridiculously long bye. Because if the last two years have taught us anything, it's that they're probably going to be in that situation more often than not until someone decides to fix this system.

The DN platform has always starred it out. No one can change it.
