you would see more than 2 quarterbacks leave if Kirby goes to portal after Gunner leaves. I count four -Ryan Puglisi, Ryan Montgomery, Hezekiah Millender, and Bryson Beaver. If these guys get dissed for a portal QB without chance to compete, they are gone. After watching the Spring Game we have 2 or 3 qbs that are right now better passers than Gunner. Puglisi is only one with any college experience, but Gunner had little experience when he became starter last year. We already have two QB commitments for next year’s class so I don’t see Coach smart going to portal for a starter.
i don’t know about all that…especially those young guys who havent played anywhere. Where are guys like Millender and Beaver gonna go? Especially when they know they could be one play from starting. Hard to get a promise for starting time when you haven’t even played unless you’re an upperclassman.
I agree. At the risk of sounding like an OSU apologist, they almost seemed like a shoe-in to repeat going into the post-season until that close loss to Indiana. Their season was like Georgia’s 13-1 after the b2b natties- not really a drop off. Michigan on the other hand, definitely a drop off. As for Indiana, please God let them have a drop off!!!
I’m just hoping Georgia can win one more natty under Smart and at a minimum he can tie Urban Cryer for natties. As it is, Smart risks being Georgia’s answer to Dabo.
only difference is the committee gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept them at 2 whereas we in 2023 were in the exact same position and somehow fell to 6.
I just saw some CF odds of winning the SEC and Big Ten. The SEC’s last place team has better odds to win the SEC than seven Big Ten teams do to win the Big Ten. We are not the same. The Big Ten has cupcakes. The SEC no longer does.
