It's being reported that he will turn down the offer. @nycdawg was right.

Matta is back home. Yesterday he brought his family and no announcement was made. It's a wrap!

I'm with you bro., Ask any salesman, whether it be automobiles, insurance or vinyl siding, you never let them leave without closing the deal. If they leave to think about it, you can be sure, it never happens.

Way to blow it, Ears. You can't let Matta think we didn't believe he could do the job, and that's exactly what happened.
Oh well, Crean or Hunter. Who do you want?

So he he isn’t ready to come back to work, but wants to interview for the job

****, we had a deal in place and then Ears went and added "extra requirements". Matta reconsidered and said no thanks.

If this doesn't turn out well, Mcgarity might not get the chance to botch another hire.

Honestly, I don't think this is McGarity's fault. I think Matta and family had a "coming to Jesus" moment and decided that he wasn't ready. That said- i'm sure there were stipulations in the contract as they should have been that alarmed Matta that he wouldn't get a big payout in this contract like the OSU deal.

If some school wants to take a chance and not put in the necessary clauses that protect them from his failing health or a buyout, then so be it.

I'm truly sad but we can re-bound from this with the right hire.

We had a deal in place, then McEars tried to change how bonuses were to be earned and paid. Matta balked and said nope, I'm done.

Yep! Back to the drawing board. My sources are now telling me we are in talks with Will Ferrel to become the next UGA BB coach. MacG needs to make this happen ASAP!

My excitment for UGA basketball was at an all -time high the past week. I constantly have been checking articles on news of the Matta hire. I have seen many more people like me that want to get behind UGA basketball. Boy, did this just deflate a lot of the excitement that I had.

really? Maybe McGarity should be shown the door. He hasn't had one good hire. Kirby was hired by Senior Management.

Matta isn't going to coach again with the payout and monthly($100,000) check plus health benefits he is getting from OSU. All he has to do is interview at places to show that he is interested in order to keep that check coming in monthly. Why would you take another job.

Dang, I swear some of you guys must stand in front of a microwave while cooking and yell "HURRY!" :D

You are right- I'm very impatient which is my Achilles heel. I just want us to win and that is all. I live in NYC but I eat and breath UGA. It's my family and I'm not afraid to admit to it.

    Damm your gut, @nycdawg! :#:D

Dear Lawd... why did they announce the offer if it wasn’t a done deal?
