If you look at the track record of the last few hires in the last couple years they are on the up and up. His original hires weren’t great but the replacements have been much better. Also Strickland has the baseball team going this year which was an original hire for AD.

Crean is a good hire. He isn’t the most sexiest hire but a good hire. If you look at the breakdown of each season. He gets the job done. He turned Indiana complete around and got them to a couple sweet sixteens. Also made Marquette a basketball school.

I think Marquette was a B.B. school well before Crean.

@donm he brought the school back. They weren’t relavent till 2003. The 60’s and 70’s were prime Marquette glory years. It wasn’t till 2003 when they were brought back to life. The 80’s and 90’s were one and done years with a lot of years missing the tournament.

Not sold on Strickland, this or any year. The baseball team hasn’t even started conference play. They’ve played mostly cupcakes and are 12-5. Kirby and the track coach are the only proven hires so far. Kirby was a no brainer, and the track coach was promoted in-house. He’s 2 for 11 on new hires with the jury still out on about 3 of his hires (Crean being one of those 3).
