Slot guys aren’t going deep. They are looking for the miss match with linebacker or even some safeties. A guy like Wren is going to be shifted all over the place in the offense and will catch quick passes that hopefully turn into big chunk plays.
If Coley and company feel like they can exploit a corner on deep route with his speed then they will send him deep. Fully expect him to run crossing routes and slants. Will be very effective on play action in my opinion. He will be a fun toy for the staff to use to exploit miss matches.

That is not true either. Slot guys go deep all of the time.  How many deep passes did Mecole catch?  A lot.

I'm planning on waking up to the sweet sound of a Wren singing on my In Box.

@MIghtydawg that math isnt right. In the time a 4.30 guy can run 40 yards, a 4.40 guy can run 39.1. A different of over 2 feet. Sorry to do math on here.

No need for apologies. Certainly don't want to be giving a North Ave Nerd any ammo.

Any news on Williams? Haven’t heard much. Would love for him to get back on campus

I see Wren as a Hardman/Cook combo type player. Hardman in the slot receiver and punt/kick returner mold, and Cook in that they’ll probably line him up all over just to get the ball in his hands. Since he’s played RB as well, definitely could see him all over the field. And said he’s down to even play gunner or whatever the team needs him to do. I dig it.

All you guys complaining about Wren need to chill. To echo SoFlo, trust the staff. Kirby has said multiple times that the one thing you cannot teach is speed. And 4.3 40 is really **** fast.

Speed kills. I don’t care if he’s a 3 star. Give him 18 months with Cortez Hankton and I’m confident he’ll be just fine.

    4.3 vs 4.4 = .9 yards in 40 Dash or 2 feet 8 inches
    4.3 vs 4.5 = 1.8 yards or 5 ft 5 inches

A guy running a 4.5 40 yard dash runs 38.2 yards in 4.3 seconds, while the guy running the 4.3 runs 40 yards. So on a 40 yard fly route with no bumps, no fakes, no changes in direction, the guy running the 4.5 is 5.4 feet behind the guy running the 4.3.

    Makes a big difference
