Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

any updates on Ringo?
In recruiting is a single loss really a bad thing? I’d venture to say no. No one ever gets everybody, despite what Kirby and staff have led us to expect. Losses are going to happen and as long as we win more than we lose, which we currently are by a large margin, we as fans should be happy.
I know the G is a national brand and all but if I drew a map and said define a lose in recruiting. I would say a lose would be a kid in the states that touch Georgia or a kid in a position of major need based off attrition (Breese comes to mind).
Kids who live in states like Oklahoma, Louisiana, Michigan or etc that aren’t hard to pull kids out of based off of instate schools that have strong ties. Because it is what it is. Those kids and family typically have deep ties in the state.
Granted I think it’s a good thing to have misses or loses because it just doesn’t look good to everyone else. Also means your team is shooting high and not settling.
Very good points @dbrown7494 .
@BillerGenieDawg
Hankton - missed on Haselwood
McGee - Missed on Cain and Sanders
Pittman - missed on Murphy, Tchio, Raym, etc
Warren - Missed on Elam
etc etc etc
Coaches miss sometimes but I look at who those same coaches pulled in or "hit" on and Im very happy. Including CTS (1 five star, 3 four stars, 2 three stars).
Why people come for coach scott? He recruited a player that ended up starting at NT. Travon Walker and now Jalen Carter who is probably the best DT in the 2020 cycle outside of breese. Let’s see how the people call him out recruit and out coach him. Now back to 2020 recruiting!
sofl, sentell, cz, and all others,
As a dawg who travels for biz a lot , currently in Australia, it is nice to receive what I feel are legitimate facts and insights. Thanks for sharing them. I could care less if suppositions or conclusions change or prove different than originally thought. However, I would really appreciate it if you guys could get us some solid information on ringo. My source told me he had a double scoop of Oreo and cookie dough ice cream for desert tonight.
Separately, my completely uninformed but unemotional take on recruiting is that the season is very important in what the class will ultimately be. I do remember in 2017 when everyone was worried about our class. The performance on the field during the season matched what Kirby was selling, and the chips then all fell into place. For instance, Jamaree didn't commit until a few games into the season. It is not surprising that a trip to the national championship game resulted in our best recruiting class really ever. (No offense Herschel’s class.) Our 2019 on field work product will change the narrative for many of these kids. Here’s to hoping for a national championship with Clemson and bama having 5 loss seasons.
So are we officially giving up on SVP? Are the in the know folks letting us down easy?
I am withholding an answer even though my comment on ringo above obviously shows I’m in the “in the know” category.
Obviously old tweet but retweeted by his mother overnight. Wonder why!!!!!
If you’re very happy with that, I guess you’re happy with the Dawgs not taking the next step and not winning a Natty
I got into it just a little bit with gator fans when an article title proclaimed a victory (FU) over FSU. A recruit 'chose FU over FSU'. This was before the 2018 game so reptiles were low and needed to proclaim a victory. My point was congratulations on your recruit but how was this a victory over FSU? Give FSU credit, if anything for being in it but only one school got the recruit.
Whether you were 2nd, 8th, or 123rd you either got the recruit on not. (Admittedly there is a staff resources, so that is disappointing to work and whiff). But if UGA is second, all the sudden it is a loss but if we were out of it early it is no big deal. Does not completely make sense.
What steps might those be?
Competing at a higher level than ever before? Recruiting at an insane level? Being in the “final 3” for almost 3/4 of 5 stars every year? Putting more Guys in the league? We are LITERALLY 1-2 plays away from winning/playing for NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS... only 5 years ago we sounded like Tennessee/Florida... “our coaching staff can coach up our 3/4 stars to beat their 4/5 stars....”
Dont be content with mediocrity... but we are a LONG way past mediocrity.
I wouldn't score some of these this way at all.
If Holyfield had been firm in his intentions for the draft last December, then I do feel like either Cain or Sanders would be a Bulldog right now. That would also affect RB recruiting in the 2020 class.
Pittman was not recruiting Myles Murphy. Paul Tchio was also not being seriously considered for a spot in this class when he chose Clemson. He's gotten a lot better over the last 10 months, but he committed to Clemson back in November.
