Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

The troller has become the trollee...
It's been a while since we have been the beneficiaries of his wisdom, especially concerning way too small DTs/
Avantae Williams looks like a heck of a football player. And he might be a great young man, but little worried about the character with him. On the field at least. Quite a few overly aggressive plays during and after the whistle. Even the first clip on his Highlights on Hudl is Him shoving someone after a play... If this is abundant on his highlight film, just imagine whats not on film...
Don't see him sticking with OR but we will likely face competition from FL schools. Supposedly thinks the world of his daughter and Deland to Eugene is a long move (don't see all the families buying in).
TE prospect Cam Large - On how close he is to committing (Wisc seems to be the lean).
“It’s getting close,” Large told 247sports. “I probably won’t announce it for a while though. I’m trying to see where I fit on the field and off the field. Just where I can see myself succeeding the most.”
Id say he is currently right behind Gilbert, DWash and TJ on our TE board. I think his offer to Wisc is commitable anytime, but he may wait this one out to see what shakes out with these three early in the season, as a few have said they might finish up the recruitment then.
Cam Large, name is keep in mind here for a 2 TE class in 2020
That’s what she said...
I just don't see an elite football player when I look at any of his film. If reports are that Fitzpatrick is emerging and has transformed his body, and expectations for Goede post-recovery are good, I would rather us stick with only one TE in this class for space if we aren't getting 2 of the 3 top targets.
Solid points, i think this one would only happen late in the cycle if at all.
I'll admit. Although there are some really positive and informative posters on here - I agree with @SoFL_Dawg . Getting difficult to read all the negative and unrealistic fan expectations.
Football is supposed to be fun.
I agree. I hate when 3-4 guys can ruin it for everyone else here just trying to read about the dawgs.
I hear you, but do think the culture and leadership in the locker room can go a long way in reining the after the whistle stuff in. That said, if there’s one position you want a player to play with an edge, it’s safety.
Combination of agressiveness, work rate, open field tackling technique and athleticism in the film reminded me of Rodney Harrison in his prime. Kid looks like he enjoys hitting vs just holding the ball carrier up until help arrives.
One concern is he’s a bit undersized at 5’11 170 for a safety in the SEC. He’d probably be all PAC-12 if he sticks with Oregon.
I’d like their chances with Ringo, Kimber & Williams in the secondary for 2-3 years.
Great point, @texdawg! Every team I coached, from youth to high school, used to hear this from me:
"What's football called?" - "A game!"
"And what are games supposed to be?"- "Fun!"
"Then put a smile on your face, go play the game, and have fun!"
Fans, coaches, players, and parents would all do well to stop and remember that on occasion.
