Haven’t heard it yet, safe money would be to bet Dawgs here. Question is now, will it be 2-3 LBs? One is in fold not public. Simpson has skyrocketed up boards. This is going to get interesting.
Probably also smart move to distance any attachments to those that want Flowe in class. Some very good players, if not better than Flowe, coming out of this region, mitigates risks and they have more support in area. Keep in mind whoever comes in won’t be playing positional minutes year one. That’s going to be a humbling experience and having that local support system will matter.
VERY good points brother. I'm liking Whitehead more n more. Kid's made of granite. He'd literally be rite at home n could use a development year behind Tindall, Dean, Quay Trez etc.
Bump for a reason. Trying to understand the LB situation (and it helps generally to understand the recruiting process). Let's say that your/this LB list ^^ is UGA's list. (Play along.) Okay, UGA tells Sherman he is #1 on their board and would like his commitment when he is ready, preferably this summer. Whitehead they tell him - perhaps - very interested in him but would like to see what he does in the fall, but will take his commitment when he is ready, subject to a good fall. Now, what does UGA say to Flowe and Simpson if they may not take 3 LBs? Or, what do they tell either of them if they are pretty sure that they will take 3 LBs?
It is a 2 way street. Simpson just included UGA but speculation is that there might not be 3 slots. Sherman or Whitehead may bail, but if they don't? Likely making this more complicated than it is. Both parties must make a business decision, and UGA likely wants to be straight with the recruits so as not to get a bad rep for not fair dealing. Wisdom, anyone?
Official answer, I don’t know how it’s going to play out. Best guess
Build your logic around this best guess. If there’s only two, there’s only two.
I hope flowe stays at usc rather than come south. He has great instincts. So if we don’t take let him stay out west
Okay. What other position (what happens to it) will most affect the LB position being 2 or 3 slots?
Not @SoFL_Dawg but’s i guess it’s Wr and DB
Ive heard that staff is targeting 5 OL, 5 DL, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 TE. These numbers are pretty solid. With 15 spots there, class size is 21-23 “today”.
Variability on #’s impact position groups WR, LB, DB.
Eliminate the names Sherman & Ringo as they’re takes. That’s 17 total now. Think about all remaining target names for those 3 position groups and fill in remaining 4-6 guys. It gets really tough as they start considering these spots (I’m not sure if it best available or greatest need at that point). Also going to depend on what attrition we see after 19. lot of talent to filter through.
@SoFL_Dawg I find your use of the word “take” (in the past few posts of yours) to be very intriguing...very intriguing, indeed.
Just means they can commit at anytime. If they don’t commit soon, they’ll be pursued into the season. Not sure everyone else fits that category as evals continue.
I understand the literal meaning, it just seemed like you used it specifically about a couple of recruits who I believe are silent (based on your posts here) and was trying to read between the lines. May have gotten too far off in the weeds though. I’m going a little nuts waiting on some of these guys to go public...
To all of y’all : following this thread is freaking awesome AND FUN TOO!!! GO DAWGS!!!
Ringo and Sherman can be the two that start this class. Arik too. Just one commit will ease all the Clemson pain lol
Everything since Feb is playing out exactly as it was projected. CU dominating the offseason, wrapping their class up early but staff is building an equally strong class if not better than CU folks. Both staffs just operate on different timelines. We will finish with the most five star players we’ve ever signed. So will they.
According to Dawgs247, Coach Schumann headed out to Utah to visit Sewell.

Hmm. Troll attempt? Poorly executed.

Assuming the LB you have #1 is Sherman, if so, think he could pull LSU commit & high school teammate, Rakim Jarret, to uga. The only reason I ask is you mention him being able to help us recruit, and there is nowhere better to start than his current teammate(s).
Don’t know tbh. I’m not sure what staff’s appetite is for Jarrett’s recruitment is at this point. This one was a bit misleading and there was a point staff thought he was coming because Jarrett said as much to Hankton.
LSU is doing a great job recruiting offensive talent right now. The passing guru from the Saints has created a ton of buzz. We’ll see.
Talented kid but there’s a better way to handle the recruitment.
