Teshaun Hightower Announces Transfer

Hate to see a solid guard leave, but this does open another spot in the 2019 class. Most likely will be awarded to a big.

So we're losing (6) seniors + 1 transfer, and have (4) committed, any concerns about depth?

As bad as this team was, there's concern about just about everything. Once Edwards actually signs, then at least we'd have one thing checked off. Then we need Claxton to return.

Targets left with scholarship offers look mostly like Gaurds or a SF

    Precious Achuiwa SF 5*

Niven Glover SG 3* (Multi year player)

Trae Broadnax PG 3* (Played with top level guys his HS career, playing the wait and see right now, from Savannah)

Josh Pierre Louis PG 3* (My fave as a PG need)

Obviously this is a start as UGA looks good next year with top guys at PG, SG, & C all in state, especially when some SFs will be left on roster. I agree a big would be ideal for future depth but at this point best available talent or PG to hone in this talented roster is ideal. (I say this all as a Duke fan but love Crean and what he's building).

tech only 4 seniors on scholly, 1 transfer leaving one more available scholarship and no i’m not concerned about depth at all...

at the moment i see our rotation like this

    G- Jordan Harris

    G- Anthony Edwards

    G- Jaykwon Walton

    F- Rayshaun Hammonds

    F/C- Nicolas Claxton

off the bench you will have to choose from

    G- Fagan, Crump, Sarguinas

    F- Brown, Camara, Toppin

    F/C- Ngumezi

I think the remaining scholly will go to a big and if anyone else leaves, we will add another guard. this is a very talented team and i expect them to make a run next season.

I think we will get a grad transfer big. Similar to how Kentucky got there this past year. Someone who can play underneath and is already physically developed

    edited March 2019

Writing was on the wall here. Probably not going to be the last one either, basically nobody on the team fit Mark Fox's style but there was a lot of pushback against learning a new style and system and Crean as well. Once this deal ends, if it wasn't obvious to some that there were issues, it'll become obvious. And I know most here realize there was.

Would expect at least 1-2 more players to leave.

Edit: And on top of it, Nic Claxton is seriously considering declaring for the draft and staying in it. That's bad news IMO and unless a good grad transfer post is acquired, would be a hindrance to next year.

is there a scholarship limit in terms of how many we can sign? Not as familiar with basketball recruiting as football

Do you think Kessler reclassifies and comes in 2019?

12 scholarships and 3 walk ons is typically what the roster looks like. Now with injuries and things the amount of walk ons can increase.
